Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel
you have learnt in the progression from it to the full
product?

2. After looking at my preliminary task I think that I have
improved my technical and creative skills – when
taking images for the new school magazine I did not
take into consideration things such as lighting mise-
en-scene, I also did not consider adding effects to my
images, However, when creating my music my
magazine i took much more imaginative images and
learnt how important it was to plan the mise-en-scene
in order to fit in with the correct genre

3. I think that my Photoshop skills have definitely improved whilst working on my music
magazine. Although I had previously used Photoshop when creating my school
magazine and knew how to use the various tools. I have since become much more
familiar with the software and gained more experience and understanding about thee
programme , For example when creating my music magazine I added adjustment layers
to gain a more professional look. I have also learnt that it is important to use the codes
and conventions from real media products.

4. I had never used Quark Xpress before I began my preliminary task, however I thought
that it was quite easy to use and I got the hang of it fairly quickly. Looking back at my
preliminary task I can see that I have improved my skills on Quark since completing my
school magazine. I have laid out my music magazine contents page in a much more
appealing and professional layout and have used more suitable sized font, in addition I
have also followed more codes and conventions in the production of my music
magazine, I feel I have used a set of images in my music magazine that will appeal to
my target audience and will do a better job at portraying the indie style to my audience.
Overall I think that I have improved my skills on Quark Xpress after having more
experience using the software.
