Debbie N. Pepin, M.Ed., is a Faculty Associate of the Institute of Leadership and Global
Education (ILGE) and the Founder of The Learning Space as well as a recognized figure in the
field of education. Not only does she speak passionately about educational reform, but she also

schools, businesses, and community leaders to think about learning in a context that goes
beyond the traditional schoolhouse. She convincingly describes the alienation of a high
percentage of youth from schools and the long-term negative effect on our society. Furthermore,
she quotes CEO’s examples of poor workforce preparedness of a high number of employees.
Her research concludes that one size will not fit all in the field of education. At present, she serves as an independent
consultant on education issues. Her “tag line” is “learning to learn to last a lifetime”. She presently consults with
charter schools, interested individuals, and higher education institutions across the US who recognize the need for
improvement in order to grow. With the Florida State University Accountability Center and the Department of
Education, she has developed a program to educate charter school Board of Directors and their administrators about
