The Challenge of the HR DepartmentThe fact that the younger generation is dictating what technology is going to be used at the corporate level. This is unprecedented! During the industrial revolution corporations who ran manufacturing and factories created joint vocational schools that instructed students on trade skills like welding and auto-mechanics. As we progressed through the 80’s and 90’s computers were introduced into schools, but the cost was great and the systems were to be shared. Now we have the ability to level the playing field in regard to the types of systems that are in the hands of C-level executives and my niece who is 6 years old. They are using the same system, very different needs, but still the same technology. The flattening of the technology playing field is going to form a tsunami of change in corporations.
