The caramel macchiato is one of Starbucks' most popular drinks. It consists of espresso shots floated on top of steamed milk with vanilla syrup and caramel sauce. To make it, a barista steams milk with vanilla syrup, pours it into a cup with a layer of foam on top, floats espresso shots on the foam, and adds a cross-hatch design of caramel sauce.

Customers love the intense bold flavor of
the espresso followed by the sweet
vanilla and caramel milk.
Macchiato means marked in Italian
which describes how the drink is made.

Macchiato implies how the drink is
going to be layered.

Greet the customer with a smile and ask
“What can I get started for you today?”
Once the customer has given the order,
the barista takes the cup and inscribes
the drink code at the bottom.
