Election, electoral symbols, political parties, commission, voting candidates. 
Facts: 
 Election commission gives symbols to each political party 
 Each individual who has completed 18 years of age have the right to vote 
 Election is conducted once in five years 
 Candidate tries to win in election by various election process 
 Election commission gives ID card to all those who completed 18 years of old 
 All those who complete at the age of 25 have the right to stand in election
 The various activities of polling booth helps the election to happen in a systematic way 
 Political parties are essential factor in the democratic system 
Concept : 
 Election is a unavoidable factor in a democratic country 
 Universal Adult Franchise – All the Indian citizens who have completed 18 years of age have the right to vote 
Curricular objectives : 
To develop an awareness of election to the pupil through observation, game, debate etc. 
Learning outcome : 
 Pupil recalls the different symbols of election 
 Pupil recognizes the procedures of election 
 Pupil identify and explains the various activities done on the day of election 
 Pupil apply the need to caste vote for the building op of good leaders 
 Pupil analyse the election procedure in the past and present and understands the difference 
 To evaluate the importance of election 
 Pupil recalls the process of election 
 Pupil recognizes the ID card

Previous knowledge : 
 Pupil know that there is parliamentary election conducted once in 5 years 
 Pupil have seen the ID card and its importance in election 
 Pupil know the different political parties

Introduction 
Teacher wishes the pupil good morning and begins the class. She asks 
the students do you like game? 
All of you stand up. When I say hand, you should show hand when I say 
lotus, you should show like lotus when I say knife, you should show like this. 
So after this game teacher asks the pupil what did you understand? Can you 
guess something? 
Very good. 
When do political parties need people? Or when do you see more the political 
parties? 
Yes today we are going to learn about election. Teacher writes the heading on 
Pupil wishes the teacher 
Yes we like 
There are symbols of political parties 
At the time of election
the black board.

Presentation : 
Teacher shows the various paper cuttings of election and pictures and 
then she shows a power point based on election and the procedures of 
election. Symbols, candidate, votes, election commissioner, returning officer, 
preceding officers etc are needed and are essential for election. 
Activity I 
Do you have a leader in your class? Why and how do we elect the 
leader? 
Then we are also going to elect a leader. She calls four students found 
and conducts the election. 
Pupil on the basis of the procedure they have seen in the power point first 
gives election manifesto to election commission they gives the symbols and 
the permission and then the candidate goes to collect vote to the pupil asking 
votes. So on. At the end, teacher keeps the electoral machine and pupil comes 
and votes. 
Codification 
People actively watch the power point and listens to 
the teacher. 
They asks questions and cleared their doubts.

For the better fractioning and are elect him through 
majority of pupils opinion 
Pupil were very active to vote 
Election
For election, electric polling machines are used. In the polling station 
different officers are assained for the polling they perform their duty 
responsibly. 
Activity II 
Teacher gives the photo copy of ID card to each group and tells them to 
observe attentively and tells them to prepare their own ID card. After 5 
minutes, teacher checks the work of pupil and all those who did correctly. 
Teacher congratulates and gives them small gift. 
Consolidation 
Voter ID is very much essential for election. All those who complete 18 
years of age have the right to vote. 
Activity III 
Teacher divides the class into two groups and conducts a debate on the 
topic. Is democracy is good? Or do you wait for the monarchy power? 
Consolidation 
India is a democratic country where people elect leaders and the leaders 
are supposed to work for the people and the welfare of the country. Teacher 
differentiates the impact and drawbacks of monarchy and democracy. 
Observes very attentively 
Most of them did the activity correctly and they felt 
so happy 
Pupil participated actively in the debate and each one 
contributed to their best
Conclusion 
Election is ‘the’ important factor in a democratic country. In India, representatives are elected every 5 years. Each leaders play a 
vital role for the betterment of our country.
