2. Personal Learning Preferences
• At the beginning of the class, my scores for the learning
preferences test were active (1), sensing (3), visual
(5), and sequential (1). Around the end of this class, I
realized that I really do use these learning preferences
the most. I think that I relied and used the visual and
sequential learning strategies the most. I would be
more particular to activities that had some sort of
visual such as a picture or video and step by step
instructions were very helpful for an online class like
assignment.

3. Personal Learning Preferences Cont.
• At the beginning of the class I took the learning preferences survey
and got reflective (1), visual (1), sequential (5) and sensing (11). I
have always liked math because math problems already have
formula to answer questions. I have a good memory and can
remember formulas. I think sensing goes hand in hand with
sequential because sensing is someone who solves problems using
a well-established method and sequential is remember steps to
solving a problem. I believe you need both for them to work
effectively. As this semester went on, I started to develop more
visual learning preference. In my classes, I tried to use all 3 to help
me and they work well together. I believe as I go through school, my
other learning preferences will start to develop as well.

4. Learning Preferences Summary
• At the end of the class, we thought that the
learning preferences we got were suitable for us, even
though we used some more strongly than others. We
also believe that knowing about our own learning
preferences can be extremely helpful when we are
doing tasks in and out of school. Knowing about our
learning preferences does make a difference in
personal learning success because now that we know
our personal learning preferences and had to evaluate
how different preferences were used in different
activities, it lets us see how we learn and think with
different assignments.

5. Learning Pathway
• At the beginning of class, I decided to choose the Learning Sage
pathway. I do not believe that I was too successful in getting a
broader knowledge of multimedia technology because I felt like the
quests and activities that dealt with it were all topics that I already
knew about. I was already familiar with the interactive sites and the
different types that they had to offer so my knowledge on
multimedia technology did not broaden very much. Because my
group member is also a learning sage, we could branch out further
to areas like how multimedia sites are created because I know that
creating websites like that takes a lot of work and planning. I did not
change my pathway but I feel like I should have changed to get a
deeper knowledge of multimedia technology since I already knew
lots of multimedia tech.

6. Learning Pathway Cont.
• I chose to be a learning sage. I did feel like I was
successful in getting a broader knowledge of
multimedia. I use multimedia every day when I
start up my computer or use my iPhone.
Multimedia is everywhere and we need to learn
how to use it to make it effective. As a group,
multimedia can help us by making presentation
easier by using PowerPoint or screencasts. I did
not change my pathway because I felt it
encompassed everything I wanted to learn about
technology. I just wanted to know the basics
about a lot of technology. Tony
7. Learning Pathway Activities
• The activity that helped us get a broader understanding of
multimedia technology to learn was the quiz and PowerPoint for
the Multimedia Quest because we didn’t even think of sources like
newspapers and magazine as multimedia, and only thought of high-
tech sources. The level two evaluation forms in the multimedia
quest helped us get a deeper understanding of using multimedia
technology to learn because we got to try different multimedia sites
that taught us all sorts of different topics and showed us that you
can use or make a multimedia site to teach any topic you wanted.
The specific activity that helped us with learning with others were
the level three essays in the Podcast quest because we could share
the podcasts with friends and since anyone could access the online
podcasts, it was easy to share and made learning with others more
convenient.
Tony
8. Top Multimedia Technologies
• I explored the Podcasts quest by looking up podcasts
that dealt with my history class to acquire more
information outside of lecture. I would find history
podcasts and listen to them to help my learning. This
multimedia technology accommodated my sensing
preference well because of the fact that I was
specifically looking for history podcasts. Because they
are history podcasts, some sites would list the podcasts
by date and what they were going to be covering so it
gave me podcasts in order and by event so the
podcasts themselves were essentially laid out neatly
for me to choose from.
Joyce
9. Top Multimedia Technologies Cont.
• The top multimedia technology I used was podcasts
because it was easy to use and find. It was also
portable and I could put them on my iPhone to listen to
where ever I wanted. I could even listen to it when I am
driving. Podcast accommodated my learning
preferences well, except for visual because podcasts
are sounds, not pictures. However it did help my
reflective learning preference because I could pause
and restart the podcast from any time period I wanted.
This helped me digest the information and then
continuing to listen to the podcast with better
understanding.

10. Experiences Using Multimedia Tech for
Learning
• The multimedia technologies that interested us the most was the Podcasts
because you could find so many Podcasts for anything and listen to them
at your leisure. There was no technology that surprised us the most as a
learning tool because we knew that we could use any as a learning tool, as
long as we tried hard enough to look in the web or use different
PowerPoints, like how we use them to answer the quizzes. The technology
that we want to explore further would be the podcasts because prior to
this class, we hardly used them and the quest showed us how helpful they
can be with our learning and how they are everywhere for us to use.
• For Tony, the multimedia technology that helped his reflective preference
was the podcasts because he could start and stop podcasts at his will to
digest information better and go on when he felt like he grasped the
previous information. Joyce used her sensing preferences best because a
lot of the Podcast sites organized their podcasts very neatly, usually by
date and some even went deeper by topic so that really help her sensing
preference and made her learning experience more enjoyable.
Joyce
11. After the Semester
• The multimedia learning strategies we will continue to use will be the visual and
reflective learning strategies because Joyce has always been more particular
toward the visual preference, as she would always try to find a way to apply her
visual preference in any assignment like drawing her own pictures or looking them
up herself. Tony will use the reflective because he learns more when he can
individually process the information in his head before continuing on any task.
These can be helpful outside of school when being presented a PowerPoint, if
there are pictures of keywords or a lot of information on a slide to process, it can
both hit our learning strategies.
The multimedia technologies we will continue to use will be the usual
technologies like websites and PowerPoints because we have always used them
and they have been proven helpful time and time again. They can be used at a job
when someone uses a PowerPoint to present something at work to their
coworkers and supervisors. The multimedia we will use for non-learning purposes
would be Podcasts because we also found less academic Podcasts that were
amusing and fun to listen to. I don’t think that there will be a technology that we
will avoid using because they have all been proven helpful so they may likely be
helpful in the future.
