3. Build a social network.
1. Start by friending others that you know are using the tools.
2. Look at friends of theirs. Interact with them.
3. Invite them to be your friends.
4. Lurk at these sites. Contribute: Networks are built on
content.
5. Learn about conferences and resources.
6. Look for professional groups you belong to or would like to
belong to. Join them. Contribute.
7. Professional versus private networks. Overlap?

5. Market yourself and your ideas.
1. Share about all your presentations at social sites.
2. Tell others what you do through blogging and micro-
blogging.
3. Provide notes for your presentations without printing paper
and by directing people to the actual sites.
4. Create your network before you need it, so when you do
need it, it is in place.
5. Develop a following of your own.
6. Offers to present or interact with others will follow.
7. Market yourself carefully, keeping in mind that blatant
marketing can shoot itself in the virtual foot.
