Your group have to prepare a revision sheet about the River Yangtze floods
including cause and affects and the human responses. This can be copied
for each member of the group.

Your group also has to weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of the
Three Gorges dam. A RANDOM member of the group may be selected to
answer the question “Is the 3 Gorges Dam an appropriate management
strategy for the river Yangtze?” If they are unable to do this effectively, the
whole group will lose their stamp for the lesson.

The notes will help you answer an exam question on the affects of flooding
in a poor country, responses and the benefits and costs of hard engineering
schemes.
