- Students will have two weeks to create two visual representations on slideshare.net documenting the progression of the women's suffrage movement.
- They will analyze primary sources from the Library of Congress website, including photos, recordings, and articles from the early 20th century.
- The projects must consider themes like emotions, facts, controversy, and effects of the movement, and reflect on how technology helped express perspectives on not having the right to vote.

Women’s Right to Vote
Objective: You and a group will have TWO weeks to create a visual representation on
www.slideshare.net that documents the progression of the women’s right to vote.
Through this inquiry journey, you will analyze photos of the time period, listen to
interviews and recording of the early twentieth century, and read articles that both men
and women wrote describing the events of the time. Consider the following themes when
creating your final projects:
the emotions
the facts
the controversy
the process
the effects
Slideshare.net has four visual representation options. You must choose TWO to use in
your final project.
Presentations (PowerPoint, etc.)
Infographics
Documents (create newspaper article, etc.)
Videos (interview, re-enactment, etc.)
All of your primary resources must come from www.loc.gov. You must have FIVE primary
sources. Two of these primary sources must be visuals (photos, charts, cartoons, etc.), the
other sources found on the Library of Congress website must be textual.
While your projects should summarize key parts of the suffrage movement, you must also
reflect on how you would feel if you didn’t have the basic rights and how technology helped
express these perspectives. Consider the following reflective ideas:
Imagine you were a women during this period, how would you feel
not being able to vote?
What emotion(s) would you have while working towards this goal?
And why?
Can this be related to a struggle that you or others face today?
How was the use of technology beneficial in creating this project?
What are some things you would do differently the next time?
At the end of the two weeks, you will two visual representations submitted to
slideshare.net, reflections completed, and will have a 10-15 minute presentation
prepared to give your classmates.

9. Questions to Consider
Areas of Reflections (mention at least 3-4 questions)
What would the world be like today if women still did not have the right to vote?
Did the right to vote guarantee equality (gender, ethnicity, etc)? Are there other areas
now where inequality still exists?
When women won the right to vote, did it lead to changes in other areas?
Imagine you were a women during this period, how would you feel not being able to
vote?
What emotion(s) would you have while working towards this goal? And why?
Can this be related to a struggle that you or others face today?
Technology and Group Reflection
How was the use of technology beneficial in creating this project?
What are some things you would do differently the next time?
Did all members of the group participate well together? Did it seems as if some group
members ended up doing more?
**Remember that your reflections must be typed, 12-font, and double spaced**
