Gospel: St. Mark 13:24-32

“A GOD WHO JOURNEYS WITH US ALWAYS”
God journeys with His people with the constancy of Love, Mercy and Providence. We are in the 33rd Sunday in
Ordinary Time and after this Sunday we will celebrate the kingship of the Lord Jesus – Christ the King Sunday. Jesus in
our gospel today said; “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” (Mk. 13:31) What is the
word of Jesus that will remain? In our past reflections I said that there is no dichotomy or difference between the word
of God and His action. Kapag sinabi ng Diyos ang isang bagay, ito ay napangyayari ng Diyos, hindi dahil sa
makapangyarihan ang Diyos kundi dahilan sa tapat ang Diyos. Ano man ang ipinangako ng Diyos, lilipas ang lahat pero sa
akma at tamang panahon, mangyayari at matutupad ang anumang wikain at pangako sa iyo. Angkinin mo na ito kapatid
sapagkat ito ay matutupad.
In Genesis, when God said “let there be light”, there was light. Through the prophets, God promised his people
Israel that in his time a Messiah will come to be the leader and savior of the world. It does come through the “Word
made flesh” and that is no other than Jesus Christ. He is the penultimate promise and fulfillment of God. We have the
same CREATOR GOD, same SON SAVIOR and the same SPIRIT ADVOCATE since time immemorial, the one Triune God,
undivided unity and trinity.
If we go through our readings it speaks of the valuable essence of time, “at that time…” - FIRST READING, “in
those days…” – SECOND READING, and in the GOSPEL Jesus said; “But of that day…”. ( Sambuhay reflection of Fr. Domie,
SSP) Ito ay makabuluhang pagnilayan, para sa akin ito ay nangangahulugang walang panahon, pagkakataon o oras na
wala ang Diyos sa ating buhay. God journeys with His people with the constancy of Love, Mercy and Providence. Nasa
banig ka man ng karamdaman, manalig ka kapatid kasama mo ang Diyos, angkinin mo ang biyaya ng kagalingan. Kung
inaapi ka, pinagtaksilan, may kaaway at talunan dahil sa katotohanan o ano pa mang kadahilanan, manalig ka kapatid at
angkinin ang biyaya ng pag-asa at bagong buhay. Kung ikaw ay balisa at nababagabag dahil sa pagka-makasalanan,
manalig ka kapatid humingi ng tawad at magbago, angkinin ang biyaya ng kapatawaran.
God journeys with His people with the constancy of Love, Mercy and Providence. Manalig kapatid, laging
sumasaatin ang Diyos, nakikilakbay at nakikinig ang Diyos sa atin. Ano man ang sitwasyon ng iyong buhay, saan ka man
naroroon, ano mang oras ngayon at sa mga pagkakataong ito – HUMINGI ka kapatid, MAGDASAL ka kapatid, MANALIG
ka kapatid at UMANGKIN ka ng BIYAYA kapatid.
Let us learn from the personal prayer of St. Padre Pio – “Lord, in your Mercy I offer my PAST, in your LOVE I offer
my PRESENT and in your PROVIDENCE I offer my FUTURE. Amen” God journeys with His people with the constancy of
Love, Mercy and Providence.
Let us continue to reflect on the Word, unfold its meaning in order for us to live out and share it into fulfillment.
