Having a data grid without an ability to execute distributed computational tasks on that data is like having a Ferrari without a drivers license! Do you have or plan to use a data grid which contains massive amount of information? Introducing one of the most exciting and long awaited Infinispan 5 features - distributed data processing framework. Being tightly integrated into each node it leverages Infinispan data grid into a distributed large scale parallel data processing system. The two core contributors of the data processing framework show how one can perform various simple and complex processing such as Map-Reduce over a data grid in Infinispan with minimal effort, using various static and dynamic languages such as Scala and Ruby. This presentation includes a live demonstration.

Alzaabi 2 Suhail Alzaabi 03/25/2019 Literature Overview of The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss The Name of the Wind is a series of fantasy novels written by a recently identified novel writer, Patrick Rothfuss and originally published in 2007. With that, it is possible for many to undermine the works of a new writer but Patrick Rothfuss has been able to successfully prove himself worthy in this first mass-market literary outing through his genius writing ideas presented in the book. As for the philosopher’s philosophy, with the book being one of the vast read fantasy novels in the market and diverse reviews have been conducted about the book (Rothfuss 132). For instance, Crockford has been able to successfully conduct a literature review of the book terming it as one of the best fantasy novels which anyone deserves to read. Moreover, the book is just an essential autobiography of a well-known famous anarchist, but now a musician and adventurer known as Kvothe, a revolutionary. The interesting aspect of the book is that it begins as a storytelling strategy by the writer with the autobiography running through but occasionally reverts to narrative telling about an interview where the bibliography information springs from. Accordingly, addressing the literature review of The Name of the Wind as per the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) International Bibliography perspective, there are various studies conducted in relation to the topic. For instance, a study by Wang, Peng and Xiaobin referred the book as one of the best novels to recommend to anyone with the story revolving around the life of Kvothe, with the fact that the book presents his life as anyone would like to have a relation of their lives to that of Kvothe. It explores his journey from childhood, through adolescence and all the way through to maturity (Wang, Peng and Xiaobin 775). Patrick Rothfuss wrote the book in a well-developed storyline and a beautiful universe carefully set and clearly articulated. Besides, the set includes all the things such as the more academic style of magic which is deeply deployed in the book making the narration and music form the greatest part of the book. Therefore, it is clear that Patrick Rothfuss uses a well thought of prose strategy which has been richly characterized by an interesting story making it excellent since no word feels out of position within the whole book. Noteworthy, the tale is reluctantly by narrated by an old innkeeper in a gripping, imaginative and emotional atmosphere which attracts the concern and attention of the readers. The book explores the life of Kvothe being through his life as directionless pickpocket thief who later learns of his parent's killers and notices that the only way to unravel the mystery is by going to the university. From additional databases discussing the novel, it identifies specific strategies used in the book as the clear narration of the life history of the character (Rothfuss 155). Moreover, th.

Literature Reviews What this handout is about This handout will explain what literature reviews are and offer insights into the form and construction of literature reviews in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Introduction OK. You’ve got to write a literature review. You dust off a novel and a book of poetry, settle down in your chair, and get ready to issue a “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” as you leaf through the pages. “Literature review” done. Right? Wrong! The “literature” of a literature review refers to any collection of materials on a topic, not necessarily the great literary texts of the world. “Literature” could be anything from a set of government pamphlets on British colonial methods in Africa to scholarly articles on the treatment of a torn ACL. And a review does not necessarily mean that your reader wants you to give your personal opinion on whether or not you liked these sources. What is a literature review, then? A literature review discusses published information in a particular subject area, and sometimes information in a particular subject area within a certain time period. A literature review can be just a simple summary of the sources, but it usually has an organizational pattern and combines both summary and synthesis. A summary is a recap of the important information of the source, but a synthesis is a re-organization, or a reshuffling, of that information. It might give a new interpretation of old material or combine new with old interpretations. Or it might trace the intellectual progression of the field, including major debates. And depending on the situation, the literature review may evaluate the sources and advise the reader on the most pertinent or relevant. But how is a literature review different from an academic research paper? The main focus of an academic research paper is to develop a new argument, and a research paper will contain a literature review as one of its parts. In a research paper, you use the literature as a foundation and as support for a new insight that you contribute. The focus of a literature review, however, is to summarize and synthesize the arguments and ideas of others without adding new contributions. Why do we write literature reviews? Literature reviews provide you with a handy guide to a particular topic. If you have limited time to conduct research, literature reviews can give you an overview or act as a stepping stone. For professionals, they are useful reports that keep them up to date with what is current in the field. For scholars, the depth and breadth of the literature review emphasizes the credibility of the writer in his or her field. Literature reviews also provide a solid background for a research paper’s investigation. Comprehensive knowledge of the literature of the field is essential to most research papers. Who writes these things, anyway? Literature reviews are written occasionally in the humanities, but mostly in the sciences and social scienc.
