• something (such as property or money) that is
received from someone who has died
• something that happened in the past or that comes
from someone in the past
• something (as memories or knowledge) that comes
from the past or a person of the past
• anything handed down from the past, as from an
ancestor or predecessor:
3. Moses Parents
• Hebrews 11:23 By faith Moses, when he
was born, was hid three months of his
parents, because they saw he was a
proper child; and they were not afraid of
the king's commandment.

• Exodus 3:6 Moreover he said, I am the
God of your father, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
And Moses hid his face; for he was
afraid to look upon God.
9. A legacy of growth
• Moses grew in his relationship to GOD.
• Exodus 33:18 And he said, I beseech you,
show me your glory.
• Exodus 33:19 And he said, I will make all my
goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim
the name of the LORD before you; and will be
gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will
show mercy on whom I will show mercy.
10. • Exodus 33:20 And he said, You can not see my

a place by me, and you shall stand upon a rock:

glory passes by, that I will put you in a cleft of the
rock, and will cover you with my hand while I pass
by:
• Exodus 33:23 And I will take away my hand, and
you shall see my back: but my face shall not be
seen.
11. We too must grow
• 1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the
pure milk of the word, that you may grow
thereby:
• Colossians 1:10 That you might walk
worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing, being
fruitful in every good work, and increasing
in the knowledge of God;
12. We too must grow
• Hebrews 5:11-14 Of whom we have many
things to say, and hard to explain, seeing you
are dull of hearing. For when for the time you
ought to be teachers, you have need that one
teach you again which be the first principles
of the oracles of God; and are become such
as have need of milk, and not of solid food.
For every one that uses milk is unskillful in the
word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But
solid food belongs to them that are of full age,
even those who by reason of use have their
senses exercised to discern both good and
evil.
13. The death of Moses
• Turn with me to Deut. 34
• Deuteronomy 34:7 And Moses was a hundred
and twenty years old when he died: his eye was
not dim, nor his natural force abated.
• Deuteronomy 34:8 And the children of Israel
wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty
days: so the days of weeping and mourning for
Moses were ended.
14. Moses Legacy
• Hebrews 3:5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his
house, as a servant, for a testimony of those
things which were to be spoken after;
• Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was grown
up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's
daughter;
• Hebrews 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction
with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures
of sin for a time;
15. Moses Legacy
• Hebrews 11:26 Esteeming the reproach
of the Christ greater riches than the
treasures in Egypt: for he looked for the
recompense of the reward.
• Hebrews 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt,
not fearing the wrath of the king: for he
endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
16. Each season of life we should be
growing
• Luke 2:40 And the child grew, and waxed
strong, filled with wisdom: and the grace of
God was upon him.

old, they went up after the custom of the
feast;
17. Each season of life we should be
growing
• Luke 2:46-47 And it came to pass, after three
days they found him in the temple, sitting in
the midst of the teachers, both hearing them,
and asking them questions: and all that heard
him were amazed at his understanding and
his answers.
• Luke 2:52 And Jesus advanced in wisdom
and stature, and in favor with God and men.
