6. PLOT
Both Raffy glenn and Kaein are already known to their village. Kaein known for
his unhelpful character while Raffy glenn as a poor man because in fact he has
never any money at all.
One time, Kaein persuaded Raffy to go with him to rob an rich old woman.
They crept in the night to the old woman’s house and began to make a hole under
the wall.
Kaein crawled through and silently gathered the valuables of the sleeping old
woman and handed them out through the hole to Raffy who piled neatly on the
ground.
As Kaein prepared to go out, he saw the old woman’s colorful robe hanging on
peg.
He took the robe down and dressed himself in it and instead going through the
hole, he went to door and stepped out.
Raffy expecting Kaein to appear through the hole they made. Seeing the dignified
robed figure coming out of the door, he thought it was the old woman and that
Kaein was still inside.
Then, Raffy screamed and shout that old woman is coming, he leave the pile of
sack where he had placed it on the ground and began to run.
7. On the other hand, Kaein thinking that the old woman was behind him, he hurriedly
threw his new robed and fled after Raffy.
Because the two of them made so noise fleeing through the village, the neighbors were
awakened and they came out with firewood and sickles to follow and hunt them.
The two were running across the open fields until they came panting to the edge of the
river.
“Ah, we are lost!” Jessie groaned. We’ll either be caught and beaten or we will drown in
the flooded river.
According to James the river isn't flooded but Jessie said that it is flooded. Kaein said
that if it were in flood it would be muddy and dark but it is so clear and you almost see
the bottom.
Well, Raffy said, you go first and tell me how it is. So Kaein held his breath, closed is
eyes and leaped from the rocky edge.
But the riverbed was dry and there was no water at all, Kaein fell into the gravel and
stones below.
As Kaein lay there in great surprise, he heard Jessie shouting to him “how is it? How is
it?
8. Raffy was embarrassed so he began to make swimming motions with his hands
and he called out by Kaein that its fine below. So Raffy too took a deep breath
and leaped from the edge. He landed next to Raffy sprawling in the dry river
gravel while Kaein still waving his hands as he were swimming and turned to
Jessie that he was right that the river was not flooded.
The people in the village arrived on the ledge. They looked down and shouted
at the two men to come out and take their punishment.
In fright, Raffy also began to make swimming motions. The villagers, seeing
the two men swimming this way in a river that had been dry for months. They
put down their weapons and laughed. So today whenever person tries to get out
of a corner by a ridiculous act, someone is sure to say:
“Don’t go swimming in a dry riverbed”.

10. RESOLUTION
The villagers could bring themselves to punish
silly fugitives.
Kaein and Raffy were caught by the villagers.
Kaein were saying that the river isn’t flooded
while Raffy says that it was flooded.
The old woman give them a punishment to
replace the wall where they made the hole.
