2. QUESTION ANALYSIS 1-3
The questionnaires were started off with a few simple questions of whether
the individual was male or female, employed or not and their particular age
range, being the typical questions given in questionnaires.
The age range was completely at 16-18 years on all questionnaires answered
with the majority being employed. Gender wasn’t a particularly vital question
though but however it was still apart of the questionnaire.
3. QUESTION ANALYSIS 4
As the graph shows
indie/alternative seems like a
popular genre of music between
the individuals that have answered
this questionnaire. Followed by
rock and then pop. These three
leading genre’s of music seem like
the typical types of music to be
used in a magazine to get the
reader’s attention especially when
they are reading about the type of
music that they actually like.
4. QUESTION ANALYSIS 5-6
The next question asked was how often do you purchase
magazines which will give me an idea of how often they read
magazines in accordance with how often they buy them or if they
buy them at all. It seems that most people rarely or occasionally
purchase magazines giving the impression of how often they read
them.
Secondly a question was asked whether the layout of a magazine
would effect whether someone was to purchase a magazine and
of course in all cases this was answered with yes as this is a vital
aspect of advertisement and is the difference between someone
purchasing a magazine or not.
5. QUESTION ANALYSIS 7-8
The next question being what radio stations do you listen to was answered
mainly with radio 1 and various other station relating to the BBC. However
some other answers were given such as kerrang, planet rock, Mercia and free
radio, however the predominant answer given was radio 1.
Secondly the next question given was what colour scheme would best suit a
magazine in your opinion which was answered mainly with contrasting colours
of light and dark with one example being purple, orange and black. Two
similarly bright colours which may be used for cover lines, text and titles
followed by a contrasting colour used for the background.
6. QUESTION ANALYSIS 9-10
The next question may have been quite a leading question, are you more likely
to purchase a magazine if your favorite artist is on the front cover?, with all
answers being yes. However it is still a useful question to use nonetheless and
will help to plan my magazine.
Secondly with the following question being how formal/informal would you
prefer the language to be in a magazine with a mixture of answers being given.
This may depend on how formal or informal the actual person is or how
particular they are when it comes to reading magazines. Though it seems a
mixture of both formal and informal language to be used should suit both
audiences well.
