Mrs Mastoraki Elena accepted our invitation to work with the YoUtopian patners on a live workshop on Appearance Based Discrimination. This was a really helpful feedback causing reflection and understanding whether we are really tolerant to the "Differnet" or just indifferent as long as it's out of our own lives' spectrum.
Live workshop with mrs mastoraki on appearance based discrimination
1.
2. Mrs Mastoraki Elena is an expert on
dealing with pupils with special needs
and she has her own way on making
things possible in situations difficult to
handle.
3. She is also a carrier advisor and she was
willing to work with us late in the
afternoon as a feedback of our works on
Appearance Based Discrimination in
Aigaleo.
4. She really undertook this difficult role
to work with us at the end of the day
and make us think in what degree we
have made our reflection on
Appearance Based Discimination.
5. Students and teachers collaborating on
Mrs Mastorakis grid work, had the
opportunity to understand their real
attitudes towards special categories of
people that may differ from us in some
way.
6. It seemes that a
number of teachers
and pupils followed
her in this game
and expressed their
personal attitudes
on whether the
referred groups of
people could be
accepted in their
social life and circle.
7. This can prove
whether we are
really tolerant to the
“different” or just
don’t care or don’t
bother as long as it
doesn’t concern us
and the way we lead
our life.
8. End of YoUtopian works for
the day.
That workshop was the last of our
occupations on Tuesday, 23rd of
September.
Pupils were free to relax and spend
the evening with their host.
Teachers enjoyed a meal under the
Acropolis Rock in Plaka Old City of
Athens.
