3. Possible Solutions
Change the location of the lockers, in order to make more room for
students in hallways etc.
Assuming a lack of horizontal space, make the lockers taller, allowing
more space for students to store their belongings.
Add lockers to classrooms(homerooms) so that students can store
their belongings in their classroom.
4. Costs
Costs would include, manufacturing new
lockers.
Cost of setup.
Cost of maintenance.
Cost of removing current lockers.
5. Testing the solutions before
implementation.
A prototype of the proposed schemes can be made in order to test
which is the most efficient option.
By comparing models the most economically efficient plan can also
be found resulting in a lower cost to the school
7. Effect on Stakeholders
Do the new lockers suffice?
Are they big enough to comfortably fit all the materials the students
put in them?
Are they easily accessible? i.e. easy to use and close to classrooms.
Keeping mind that the area the lockers will be in normally have
activity, i.e. students moving around etc. In addition, students might
be carrying things so easily accessible lockers are essential.
8. Funding
Due to an assumed large scale project, the school could benefit from
purchasing economies of scale, resulting in lower average cost.
Angel investors might fund a large part of the project as education is
a positive externality.
Schools funds.
9. Summary
The new lockers would be taller, allowing more space without
pushing into ‘new areas’ as the lockers are being expanded
vertically, not horizontally
They would be easily accessible and take into account that students
would probably be carrying study materials while using them. The
lockers would be designed with that in mind.
Funds for the project would come from angel investors, the school
itself. A possible ‘discount’ could be obtained via purchasing
economies of scale.
