1. "Born Digital"
Today more and more students have access to devices
like smart phones, iPods, iPads, netbooks and laptop
computers.
Schools have the responsibility to teach our children in engaging ways as future
leaders of our country. B. Nesbitt produced a video, "A vision of K-12 students
today" that helps to motivate teachers to inspire their students. Even more
importantly to motivate administrators to get teachers the tools and training in order
to move into the 21st century.

6. My Vision
To use technology seamlessly in the
classroom so that the technology itself
is invisible
7. To employ technology to
provide a variety of new ways
to learn, and in the process,
foster independent thinking,
problem solving, and
collaborative learning

10. Teacher
As you can imagine, using technology in
the classroom changes the classroom
structure, operation, and management.
Teachers learn to become a “guide on
the side”.
Getting there involves changes in
philosophy and practice.

14. Content
The International Society for Technology in
Education (ISTE) believes that:
“We must help students prepare to work,
live, and contribute to the social and civic
fabric of their communities.”
Digital-Age Learning:
Demonstrate creativity and innovation

16. Technology
What tools do you have at your school
site?
What software or hard ware restrictions
are there?
What type of room set up and computer
preparation is necessary?
Do you know how to use, charge, upload
and download all the equipment in your
lesson?
How do you select equipment to use?
17. Is that all that is needed
to integrate technology?
18. Build an Integration Team
No Relationships are vital to the successful
integration of technology in your
classroom.
A team is needed – It could be the
Technology Coordinator, Principal, Media
Specialist, Curriculum Director,
Technology Integrator, Tech Savvy
Students.
19. And don’t forget . . .
Set High Expectations
Model Use

Sport
Motivate and engage
the student
Technology is more
than a tool, it is a
new skill!
