Portability is the point behind
laptops. Therefore, a laptop that
puts a lot of stress on your
shoulders would be
counterintuitive to the whole
point of the thing.
About 6 pounds of weight
should be enough. Any more
and you’re better off not
carrying it around a lot.

Size should also factor into a laptop’s portability. Whether or not it weighs 6 pounds, if its
dimensions won’t allow it to fit inside a standard backpack, how would you be able to lug it
around conveniently?

your hands.
To get that sweet spot size-wise, 13 inches should be the way to go.

components might be overkill for most

handy to have, the trend of media
content becoming digital downloads, as
well as programs going the same
route, are slowly making optical drives
a thing of the past.

And of course, the price should always
be a factor to think about; more so than
most factors for many people, actually.
$500 is good place to start with for 13-
inchers. You may go a bit higher than
that if your budget allows, but anything
more than $700 is already excessive.
