2. Hypothesis
• I think my PORSCHE 911 GT3 RS will go
the furtherest because it is the biggest of
my toy cars and might be the heaviest
3. Method
• I will weigh my toy cars and see what their
weights are
• I will make a wooden ramp and have it
sloped
• Slope the ramp at angle
• Let each car go down the ramp
• Mark how far they go and measure each
distance
4. MATERIALS
• TOY CARS:
• ASTON MARTIN ONE -77
• BUGATI VEYRON
• PORSCHE 911[997] GT3 RS
• Metal Ramp *Scales (weight)
• Scale monitor
• Tape measure
5. RESULTS
What I thought was wrong
The ASTON MARTIN ONE-77 WENT THE FURTHEREST (my smallest car)It went 14cm off the ramp and it also went the fastest
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS went the slowest and went the least distance
The heavier car did not go as far as the lighter ones.
The BUGATI and the PORSCHE HAD RUBBER WHEELS but the ASTON MARTIN had plastic wheels. That may be another
reason why the Aston went the furtherest.
6. CONCLUSION
• Lighter, smaller cars with
plastic wheels go further and
faster on a metal ramp
7. WHAT NEXT?
I now want to know
Will my fastest car (Aston
Martin) go further and faster
on a different ramp surface?
