What is going well?
There is a few things which I think is going quite well in my design. Think that the colours which I have used are very
appropriate as they fit in with the theme of Scotland and also using the original colours of Irn Bru. I think that I
have decided to choose well with having a bright background as I think that this has a positive effect when
looking at the website banner. I have also decided to choose a bright warm colour as the background because I
think that it will stand out more. Another positive point which my banner has is that it links in with my design
for my magazine advert. I have used the same colours, features and also a similar slogan to my advertisement
that is on my website banner. I think that my website banner is strong because it is straight to the point, catchy
and I also think that it catches the attention of my audience.
What is not going so well?
I think that my design could be slightly developed. First of all I think that my layout is very simple and I think that this
could be improved by adding more features onto my website banner. I also think that my website banner could
be more planned as it looks quite rushed. By considering all my options and improving my design I think that
this will improve the overall look of my website banner.
How could I improve my design?
I think that there is a number of things which I could do to improve my website banner. First of all I think that I could
add an example of the energy drink can to show that the can looks like. This will give an idea to my audience of
what the can looks like and what they can expect when they are looking for it in the shop. I also think that I
could add a description of the can on my design. I also think that to make my design look more interesting I
think that I should change the layout and create a new website banner based on the design of one of my
different magazine advertisements.
3. Development 2
What is going well?
I think that I have improved on this design compared to my other one. This is because I have
taken on board my criticism and decided to change my design for the website banner. I
firstly think that this design is going well because of the theme which I have used. I have
taken my idea from development 4 of my magazine advert and kept a consistent theme
throughout the products. Both of the designs show happiness which I think will interest
people more. I have also decided to use the slogan which is also used on the magazine
advertisement. This slogan is ‘Bring back the youth in you!’. I have decided to use this
slogan as it fits in well with the image of the young boy. I also think that this catchy slogan
will interest my audience as the impression which I am trying to get across to the
audience is that the energy drink provides you with energy, like a child as. Another
positive point from this design is that I included a description of the drink at the bottom of
the design. I have also used the same hash tag which is the same on the magazine
advertisement.
What is not going so well?
Although that I have used one of the images from my original poster I think that I should add
the other image from my poster. This is because I think it will improve my design as it will
be easier for the audience to recognise the product.
How could I improve my design?
I think that I could improve my design this is because my design is very similar to my magazine
advert design. I think to improve this I could try moving away from the idea by changing
different things to make my design more developed and original.
4. Development 3
What is going well?
I think there is a few things which is going well with this web banner. I firstly think that this theme fits in well with the can. This is because the drink is an
energy drink and it shows examples of people who will drink the energy drink. I think that this is a positive aspect to this web banner because it will
encourage the audience to buy the drink as it will give them the impression that they will be able to run like an athlete. Another thing which is going
well on my design is that I have used an interesting image. Unlike other web banners which use graphics and art this can uses a realistic image which
can have a lasting impression on my audience. I think that this image is very suitable for my can because the main colours on my theme are orange,
blue and white. The colours of the trainers are blue, red, orange and white and these are suitable for my design as they link in with the theme
colours.
What is not going so well?
I think that there is a few things which aren’t going so well for this design these include the image because the image on my design fills up the whole space I
think that as I have stretched the image it has lost quality and become less sharper. To improve this I think that I could experiment with different
images and maybe adjust the size of my header to make it smaller as this would then fit the image on. As the image is quite bad quality I think that I
could try using rota scoping for the improvement on this design as this would improve the quality of the image and it would also give the web banner
a different effect.
How could I improve my design?
I think that I could improve my design in different ways I think that I could add a moving graphic on my design as this would catch attention. Maybe adding
an effect to allow the feet to move will create a more interesting look. I also think that I could add a moving effect on the image of the can. This is
because if the can is moving it will bring the audience to look at the image and then they will remember the web banner.
5. Development 4
What is going well?
I have decided to create a website banner to link in with my magazine
advertisement (development 6). I think that this design is quite strong in
some ways however could also be improved. The things which are going
quite well is the layout of the banner. I have organized the banner in 3
different sections including the top section which has the title. The middle
section which has the main image and also the bottom section which has
the slogan. I think that this is a successful way to organize my banner as it
allows the audience to read different sections that are straight to the point.
I also think that I have used a good use of colours within my banner as each
section is a different colour instead of being all the same colour I have used
a mix which will bring attention to the design from the audience. Another
successful point to my design is that I have taken on board my improvement
advice from development 3 and I have decided to rotascope the image. This
has made my image clearer and better quality it also links in with my
magazine advertisement design because I have used a rotascoping effect on
that as well. I think that the slogan which I have used for this design is
powerful, and meaningful as it is straight to the point. I have decided to sum
up the energy drink in 3 words so that the audience know straight away
what it is. I think another positive aspect to this design is that is links in very
well with the magazine advertisement however the slogan is different.
What is not going so well?
I think that I could improve a few features on my design these include the font. As
I think that the font looks quite boring I think that I could experiment with a
more interesting font which will stand out.
How could I improve my design?
I think that I could improve my design is many different aspects. I think that to
improve I could include an image of the can and maybe have the athlete
holding the can. To make my design more interesting I also think that I
could use a GIF mode to allow the athlete to move horizontally to make the
effect that he is running. I also think that this look interesting. I think I could
also add a background such as a similar image from the magazine
advertisement. This will then show the link between the two products.
