Professional Development for Phillips High School teachers.

1. November 5, 2012, to March 4, 2013
A Great opportunity for Phillips students!
This contest encourages students to become authors by creating
their own original eBooks that can be shared with others.

2. - Sponsored by the CPS Dept. of Libraries
- Kindergarten – 12th Grades can participate
- Submission of an ebook for competition
 argumentative
 narrative
 informational
 explanatory
- School competition District Competition

3. - Books will be submitted in PDF format
- No minimum or maximum length for book
submissions
- Books can be text, picture or a combination
- Dual language books are encouraged
- Special provisions will be made for SPED students
- Students may co-author books

4. - There will be 20 prizes in all by grade bands
- A winning eBook will be selected in grade bands
(K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12) and for each network
collaborative
- Collaborative-level winners will each receive $25
book store gift cards, award certificates, and their
schools will each win a $500 collection of Follett
eBooks.

5. Among the collaborative winners, the highest scoring
eBooks in each grade band will become the district-
level winners. These students will each win a $50
book store gift card, award certificates, and their
school libraries will each win a $1,000 collection of
Follett eBooks.
