2. Initial plan
These were my initial ideas for
my magazine, to make this plan
I followed the criteria of having
a mid close up shot of a student
and therefore I made it the full
bleed to centre the attention on
the picture. I then added in
titles and other text that I
wanted to feature on my front
cover and contents page. I also
thought about what kind of
images I would like to be shown
throughout my magazine and
what would appeal to my target
audience of school students.
4. Pictures not used
I ended up not using any
of these images as I
preferred the other ones
that I had selected to go
on my magazine. I felt
like my other images
were more suited to my
magazine and fitted in
with the contents more
– for example a picture
of a group of girls eating
lunch fitted in with my
feature about the lunch
menu.
5. Masthead ideas
o Haydon weekly
o Haydon shout
o Haydon news
o Haydon gazette
o The daily Haydon
After conjuring up different ideas
from asking friends and thinking of
my own, I decided to go with
‘Haydon News’ as I had the idea to
combine the two words as ‘Haydon’
ends with and ‘News’ starts with a
‘N’ I thought that this would look
good on my magazine, appeal to the
primary audience and make it more
original and professional.
