An experienced, highly motivated and devoted professional with in excess of 22 years of experience within the British
Army, working as a Lance Sergeant in the regimental police within the Grenadier Guards, responsible for the security
and good order of military standards. Strong record of implementing and monitoring security and risk mitigation plans,
coupled with a recent qualification in health & safety, fire management and environmental health. Possessing excellent
negotiation and communication skills, quickly building rapport with colleagues and partners, and motivating colleagues
to reach operational objectives. Following the success within the British Army, now seeking a new professional
challenge in the West Midlands and Worcestershire area, certain to add significant value to any organisation (available
to start at the end of May, 2015).
Additionally, the British Army as my previous employer will grant access to funding to support the completion of 2
courses of my choice within the next 5 years (the courses need to be undertaken in different years).

Employment History:
1993 – Present: The British Army, Lance Sergeant
Working in the regimental police within the British Army(First Battalion Grenadier Guards) with responsibility for the
maintenance of security and order within the military. The role includes the following principal responsibilities:
● Responsible for overseeing the security of the camps and discipline within the barracks and Royal palaces.
● Managing the guard room(control centre) and its team members; working to ensure the security of both
personnel and visitors.
● Establishing effective lines of communication to be able to liaise with all members of staff.
● Delegating tasks effectively to all members of the team, ensuring duties and orders are understood and
complied with.
● Delivering safety and risk management briefings to team members.
● Responsible for taking disciplinary action against violation of orders; motivating and monitoring staff to ensure
strong performance.
● Overseeing and conducting safety patrols around the barracks to monitor safety and security.
● Issuing passes to the public visiting the barracks; ensuring the front gates are controlled at all times.
● Liaising with other public officials, including the police, as necessary.
● Undertaking public and ceremonial duties, including Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Tower of London and
the Queens birthday parade.
Education :
● Nebosh Health and Safety, Fire Management, and Environmental Health Practitioner
(expecting final results in June 2015)
● First Aid at Work, HABC Award Level 3 (QCF)
● European Computer Driving Licence, Levels 1 & 2 (QCF)
● BTEC Level 2 in Knowledge of Providing Security Services (QCF)
● Pearson Edexcel Level 2 Certificate in Providing Security Services (QCF)
