10. In April 1943, Rosa was arrested by the
Japanese soldiers at a check point in the
nearby town of Magalang and was taken to the
garrison. There, she was forced to be a comfort
woman. She spent the next nine months of her
life in this way.
One day, she heard the Colonel and
Tanaka talking about their plan. They were
planning to burn her town in Pampanga, as well
as the killing of the HUKBALAHAP members.
Summary

the street, she told him the Japanese
plans. The Japanese failed in
accomplishing their plans. The Colonel
suspected the strange actions of Rosa so
she was dragged to the garrison and
mercilessly beaten. In January 1944, the
guerrillas attacked the garrison and they
freed her and the other imprisoned HUKs.
The Huk dropped her in shallow ditch
when he could not carry her any further.
