Idea: Help simplify
the process of
working abroad

Solution: Job
portal that only
contains jobs
willing to hire
foreigners & a
service that solves
immigration issues
What we did
Surveyed both NovoEd students and mentors
• We believed NovoEd students were ideal starting
points to target since many are international
students and would probably like to enhance
their learning, skills, and experience by working
abroad
• Some were interested in working abroad (job
seekers)
• And some were interested in hiring employees
(employers)
What we learned
• The value proposition wasn’t clear enough and there
were questions about our uniqueness
• Job seekers liked the look, design, images and the map
view navigation
• Job seekers would be interested in living and working
abroad and thus interested in our idea
• Job seekers would pay to solve the immigration issues
to working abroad but will not pay to use a search
portal to find work abroad
• Employers sample size was too small to draw
significant conclusion (more inquiry would be needed)

Answer – Most popular steps:
1. Pick a country you want to work in
2. Search for a job
3. Determine if you are legally able to work in that
country
4. Apply for the job

Possible implication – Where people work may
be more important than what work they do
What we may do next
• Because our survey sample size was small we would
need to continue researching and inquiring
• Our challenge going forward would be for employers to
value our work enough to give us the time to provide
valuable feedback
• Developing a functional prototype would be on hold
until we gain greater insight to both job seekers and
employers
– Understand their needs, wants, desires, motivations,
problems, challenges, etc.
