2. Who:
During the conception of Kappa Lambda Chi Military Fraternity,
Inc. (K.L.C.) our 3 Founders asked the question “Who are the
men that are worthy to uphold our vision and continue the
legacy of K.L.C.”? K.L.C. will NOT admit any man to membership
who was not believed to be a man of good character, a service
member of fair ability with ambitious purposes, a man that has
a congenial disposition as well as possess good moral values and
lastly a man that has a high sense of honor and a deep sense of
personal responsibility. This is why K.L.C. ONLY accepts current
or former members of the United States Armed Forces: U.S.
Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corp or U.S. Coast
Guard who have served honorably. Commissioned, Warrant,
Noncommissioned, and Enlisted are all eligible for membership.
3. What:
What makes a premier fraternity like Kappa Lambda Chi Military Fraternity,
Inc. (K.L.C.) the right fit for you? This question comes up more often than not
and the answer is within the individual.
If you pride yourself on being faithful to your brothers, your cause, and your
beliefs which are demonstrated through your continuing loyalty and support
then K.L.C. is the Fraternity for you.
If you want to continue to strive for experience, knowledge, and good
judgment to include the quality of being a intelligent man then K.L.C. is the
Fraternity for you.
If you have the passion and motivation to achieve your personal goals as well
as have the character and strength to do the hard work in the face of
adversity then K.L.C. is the Fraternity for you.
If you’ve answered YES to all of the above then you are a perfect fit for our 3
objectives which are the Promotion of Fidelity, Development of Wisdom and
the Encouragement of High Ambition!
4. Where:
Kappa Lambda Chi’s vision is to establish an Active Chapter within a 50
mile radius of a military installation (regardless of branch) in every state
as well as overseas. Currently we are in the process of activating 3
chapters on the East Coast. The Hampton Roads Virginia Alpha Chapter is
scheduled for activation on 9 March 2014. We are also working with our
brothers in the Northern Virginia area to establish the D.M.V. (D.C.,
Maryland, and Virginia) Beta Chapter in the Fall of 2014 and the North
Carolina (Fayetteville) Gamma Chapter will soon follow. Aspirants who are
not near Kappa Lambda Chi Military Fraternity, Inc. (K.L.C.) Chapters are
able to join through our National Line. K.L.C. will host National Lines three
times a year – Winter, Spring, and Fall. Also, annually the Fraternity will
host our Retreat. The Annual Retreat serves as both a reunion and
networking opportunity which encompasses the Fraternities annual “Way
Ahead” conference for all Active K.L.C. Brothers. Also, Eternal Lamps who
have successfully completed the Intake Process during a National Line, but
were not able to travel to an Active Chapter for initiation will be initiated
during the Annual Retreat.

6. Why:
You ask yourself “Why should I join a fraternity” and even more so,
“Why should I join Kappa Lambda Chi Military Fraternity, Inc.
(K.L.C.)”? Before you can answer that question you must understand
what the word fraternity actually means. A fraternity is a group of
men formed by a brotherhood with common goals and aspirations
who make a commitment to each other for life. The members that
form a fraternity share their efforts, friendship and knowledge.
Together these members learn, grow and make the fraternity
stronger. Their common experience builds ties that last a lifetime.
Now, to answer the question “Why join K.L.C.” the answer is quite
simple. K.L.C. caters exclusively to men of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Formed as an alternative to traditional organizations for men, we
offer membership in a Greek Letter Organization that focuses solely
on military brotherhood, mentorship, and community service which
is Second to None!
7. How:
The first step towards Kappa Lambda Chi Military Fraternity, Inc.
(K.L.C.) membership is submitting a complete membership
application with the required documents. Select the membership
application link on our website to view the list of required
documents. After the application has been submitted and processed
(if accepted) you will then receive a formal acceptance letter inviting
you to participate in our Intake Process. Upon receipt of your
acceptance letter you are required to pay a small membership fee of
$275 which is non-refundable. You will NOT be required to pay this
fee unless you are invited to participate in our Intake Process. Also,
K.L.C. has an annual membership renewal fee of $175 this fee is NOT
required until the start of the following fiscal year, which starts
October 1st. Those joining established Local Chapters may be
required to pay Local Membership fees, in addition to the National
fee. Remember, K.L.C. is a non-profit organization so all monies
incurred is used solely towards the Fraternity’s operating expenses.
8. HAZING:
“Hazing” refers to any activity expected of someone joining a group
(or to maintain full status in a group) that humiliates, degrades or risks
emotional and/or physical harm, regardless of the person’s willingness
to participate. Even if an activity is a “Voluntary” decision of an Intake
Line, it occurs because the chapter has created an expectation for it
and may be considered hazing.
ZERO TOLERANCE:
Contrary to society’s stereotypes and the images often portrayed in the
movies and on television, hazing has never been endorsed or
encouraged for our Initiates to be “Mentored” or for them to “Earn”
their membership into our fraternity. In fact, hazing is in direct
contradiction to our values as well as the mission of Kappa Lambda
Chi Military Fraternity, Inc. and will “NOT” be tolerated!
