Your  mind  can accept only those ideas that have a frame of reference with your existing knowledge. It rejects everything else.  If you develop a broad cross-functional expertise, no new idea will be wasted.  It will immediately connect with the existing knowledge and will inspire you, energize you, and encourage your  entrepreneurial creativity.
N otion of emergent learning as learning in which actor and system co-evolve.
 
 
 
Individually when we approach projects and initiatives we do so from our own base of knowledge and experience and often have to create additional internal structures to handle those aspects that we are unsure of and have no expertise in. My question is Why would we do that ? ,[object Object],[object Object]
 
SOUTH AFRICAN EDUCATION LANDSCAPE
32.2% of Grade 12 students fail at a pass mark of 30% - 173,000 students.  Only 23.5% pass at 50% or higher – 126,300 students Only 4% actually qualify for Tertiary Education Majority of countries pass mark is 50%
4.3% completed a three year qualification 90.2% dropout from Year 1 to start of Year 3 Target 1M students in FET by 2014 Capacity increase of  240% 118 Additional FET Colleges
230,200 applications – 84,700 available places Shortfall of 145,500 places Students saying ‘there are no more places left in my chosen field of study, so I am looking at whatever is still open, I must get in’ 40% Dropout in Year 1
Estimated 41% (2,8M) of the 6.8M youth aged 18 to 24 are “ not in Employment, not in Education and not in Training (NEET) 76,000 learners who passed the NSC risk missing out on the learning opportunities available
60% of people in SA over the age of 20 have not completed Secondary School - 18.3 Million people 43% live in Rural Areas 57% in Urban & Peri-Urban Areas
