Sarah Palin, the former vice-presidential candidate, wrote on her Facebookpage: "Holy unbelievable.
The hypocritical leftist lamestream mediashould be shamed by every caring, child-loving American,"
she wrote.
"One just can't win in their petty little games. Good thing mostAmericans don't play those little
games! It's a beautiful thing the Romneyfamily has done by embracing - "the spirit of adoption" What onearth is more beautiful? Shame on MSNBC for mocking this."
The row over the show comes shortly after another television star, PhilRobertson, the patriarch of
the reality programme Duck Dynasty, wasembroiled in controversy over his outspoken remarks on
gays.
Harris-Perry's initial apologies on Twitter failed to satisfy her critics.
Making an emotionalapology to the Romneys, she said: "My intention was not to bemalicious, but I
broke the ground rule, families are off limits."
She added: Whatever the intent was, the reality is that the segment proceededin a way that was
offensive, and showing the photo in that context, of thatsegment, was poor judgment.
"So without reservation or qualification, I apologize to the Romneyfamily," said the anchor at the
open of her show."
Harris-Perry, the daughter of a black American father and white woman, becameincreasingly
emotional as she apologised to other families "formedthrough transracial adoption:.
She added: "I am deeply sorry that we suggested that interracial familiesare in any way funny or
deserving of ridicule."
