Provides primary healthcare to common
man in Kerala (Grass root level)
119 hospitals
768 dispensaries .
May be only Ayurvedic institution which provides
fresh kashayam without preservative even in this
era.

4. No mentioning in Health policy draft – how to
Promote the dept.
No referal system—Thaluk level or
block level hospitals are less

5.  Research and Documentation
 Lack of Manpower
 Four staff in one dispensary
 Comparison with PHC which contains
minimum 25 staff.
In the existing Public health care system
Ayurveda should be incorporated

6. Balamukulam---Catch them young
Immuno modulatory effects of Indukantham
gritha is proved in studies conducted by
GACT in assosiation with RCC.
Just like use the possibilities of Ayurveda in
recurrent respiratory tract infections,skin
diseases,digestive problems etc.
As per WHO guidelines it is better to reduce
the maximum use of antibiotics.

 YOGA----Start yoga centrs in every Ay dispensary-
But not even one word mentioned in Policy draft.

told in In Swasthavritha etc.

9.  Pre natal and Post natal care
Integrating with the existing
modalities which will be much beneficial
for public
 Geriatrics
 Palliative care
 Health calender which includes all healthy
food habits , Dinacharyas, Rithucharyas etc.

10.  ISM infrastructure can be utilised.
 Care Keralam can initiate widespread cultivation,
collection etc. with the help of medicinal plant
board.

11.  SPORTS AYURVEDA
 KSHARA SUTRA

12.  TOURISM
 Start speciality centres in Dist Centres
considering foreigners
 Curative
 Rejuvinative.

13.  Quacks ---Effective measures needed
Give permission to DMO to enquire on a
complaint and to advise Police dept and medical
council for proper action.
Proper awareness among public is needed.
Specific Medicine based and false Advertisements
should be banned.

14.  NEED of AYUSH dept
 96 crores for ayurveda in haryana
 Kerala-only 14 crores-7 for oushadhi,1/2 for medicinal plant
board, remaining for Ayurveda (Including salaries)
Even Sreelanka is having an Ayurveda Dept and
a Minister for it. When an IAS cadre man is ther
e to controll, the whole scenario will change
drastically.

15.  Need of RCC, Sreechitra model institutions
rather than Ayurvedic resorts.
 Documentation and validation---Propagation of
these therapeutic procedures—Both have to go in
parallel way.
 E-ISM—developing softwares.

16.  Need of Intense Training / CMEs
For taking effective public classes
For preparing projects
For Inculcation of modern culture in diag
nosis and treatment.
For introducing modern innovations
And also for not diluting Ayurvedic basic principles.

17. Leading manufacturing companies should spend a
percentage for research-mandatory for licence renewal.
They shall help the dept in conducting speciality Ops like
Thyroid clinic, diabetic clinic etc.
The custom of stopping the manufacturing of
Specific classical products is not good to the future of
system.

18. NEED of Inclusion of Ayurvedic Culture and
principles in School syllabus-----
which will be helpfull in all aspects
in long run.

19.  Inclusion of Ayurvedic Treatments in
Insurance coverage
 Incorporating Ayurveda in Agriculture and
Veterinary fields.

20.  Ayurveda is not a private property of Ayurvedic people
 It is the duty of each Indian to propagate it.
 An Intellectual group of Efficient professionals from
various field have to work together in administrative,
project implementation, and
in all aspects which will propagate Ayurveda globally.

21. Whole world is looking Ayurveda as an effective
alternative system, Quality people should come to
Ayurvedic field. For that the social status of ayurvedic
people should be in par with counterparts in pay & perks.
NHP 2002 on ISM&H ,
The states would be encouraged to consolidate the ISM
infrastructure and raise the salary/professional status of
ISM Practitioners to encourage inflow of talent and
enhanced work culture.
