A basic overview for finding books in the Glenbrook South High School Library.

1. FINDING BOOKS IN THE
GBS LIBRARY
Freshman Orientation 2013

2. From the LibGuides Home, choose
Books on the Featured Guide List.

3. Click on the Catalog image to access
our books.

4. The default search is a keyword search.
You can also search by author, title,
series, or subject.
You can select by
material type (book,
ebook, etc.).
Use the dropdown menu to
search GBS, GBN or both
libraries.

5. The call number is the
book’s “address”.
Nonfiction is organized by
subject. Fiction is
organized by author.
Our online ebooks can be
accessed through our
catalog. You can access
them at any time, day or
night. Click on the title for
more information.

If an item is out, it will show 0
here

6. Some items are housed in
different locations in the
building. They are often noted
at the beginning of the call
number (SSRC, GBA, etc.)
Click on the Copies tab for
more location details.
If GBN has copies of the
book, it will display here

7. The location is displayed here. This
book is in the Adams Resource
Center.
Most books will be in the GBS Library.
For books in the Adams Resource
Center, Music or GBN, ask a library
staff member for help.
