1. Internet Marketing or Selling which one?
Marketing, Selling, Advertising, Traffic Generation what’s the difference and why should
you know?
See there’s a big difference between each one of those. Ideally you want to market your
products/services to generate interest/desire! That’s what marketing is all about, it’s about
giving away content, ebooks, webinars, and other high quality freebies just to show the
prospects you know what you’re talking about AND they generate desire for your
products/service and your company.
So if you have a business selling an e-book instead of simple creating a salesletter and
driving traffic to the salesletter YOU should make use of some marketing “weapon”.
Many use also the FREE CD which works real great, so shift your thinking from trying to
SELL your products to trying to MARKET your products that way when a visitor comes to
your website he’s already been pre-sold.
If you don’t use marketing tools like a free ebook or something prospects can access for free
to KNOW what and how good you are then your website has to SELL them! And that’s
difficult to do!
Even if you’re a world class copywriter it’s easier to build interest by using a marketing tool
instead of directly selling the product/service via a salesletter.
That’s why I always give an e-Course from my salesletters because many people don’t buy
the first time they visit your website – the e-Course serves to get them to desire my
products/services it’s the marketing tool.
So think about it – there are ALL sorts of ways to MARKET your products/services and it will
be SO MUCH easier to sell! Market first and they’ll be pre-sold.
Salesletters are the selling tools, they’re like salesman but in print. Nowadays you have to
market your products/service NOT just putting up a salesletter!
E.g. Let’s say you’ve signed up with a forum to promote your website in your signature –
instead of sending traffic to a salesletter (that will then try to SELL them) send traffic to a
landing page to give some quality freebie and that freebie is the marketing tool that will
build desire for your product. The visitor will be pre-sold with the high quality freebie and
will WANT to check out your products/services just because he’s interested and has desire
to know you more (after digesting the freebie).
So remember try to market your products and services so it will be much more easy to SELL.
