This was my final project for a Public Relations course at USC. The object was to create a brochure for an organization of your choosing that encourages, persuades and sparks interest in the company.

Bureau of European & Eurasian Affairs Office of Press and Public Diplomacy U.S. Embassy in Prague Conducts U.S. foreign relations with countries in Europe Covers all 46 countries in Europe & Eurasia as well as multilateral organizations including the EU and NATO, as well as the full spectrum of issues driving US diplomacy in the region EUR/PPD serves as the link between Public Affairs Officers overseas and their respective geographic desk offices in EUR, and works closely with posts in the development and implementation of our public diplomacy strategy for each country and for the region.

4. What is Public Diplomacy? Public diplomacy seeks to promote the national interest and the national security of the United States through understanding, informing, and influencing foreign publics and broadening dialogue between American citizens and institutions and their counterparts abroad America's public diplomacy outreach includes communications with international audiences, cultural programming, academic grants, educational exchanges, international visitor programs and U.S. Government efforts to confront ideological support for terrorism

5. What would you do? Day-to-day tasks for EUR/PPD interns may include: Coordinating digital video conferences between several US embassies in Western Europe and an Ambassador to the United Nations. Serving as the PD desk officer for sub-regional portfolios such as the Nordic Baltic Countries. Attending press briefings and conferences at the State Department and the Foreign Press Center in Washington. Draft talking points, papers and press guidance for senior level Department officials on pressing foreign policy issues. Compiling and editing the bi-weekly highlights publication of public diplomacy events in the European region. Assisting colleagues with urgent research projects such as European media commentary on North Korea, background information on oil pipelines in the Caucasus, and briefing notes on environmental reform in preparation for Secretary Clinton’s trip to Romania. Organizing and hosting International Visitor programs from EUR posts, including arranging for speakers and attending briefings on themes such as promoting democracy and freedom of speech in Ukraine and immigration and minority rights in Sweden.
