  1. Check on the new updated help documents. From the FUN, click on Content.
  2. You can add the necessary dropbox folders and gradebook items if you feel comfortable. Take a look at the “how-to” documents for exact details about adding these items (FUN, Content, Facilitator Information). Check the entire course and try to submit one detailed help ticket as this makes it easier for us.
  3. There are “How To” documents in the content section of FUN (Facilitator Information) with step by step directions and pictures on how to set up course announcements, how to add graphics, how to add gradebook items, and how to add dropbox folders and link them to gradebook items.
  4. It is a requirement to post all learner feedback within the course. Please make sure you are leaving detailed feedback for all aspects of the course which include assignments, journal and weekly discussion board. In most cases course categories are divided equally so they deserve personal feedback. The feedback you provide in the primary way a learner about his/her progress.
  5. This is the one and only place to find your “official” list of learners. Use this list to send your welcome letters. Remember that learners will not appear on the class list in d2l until the learner has actually “clicked to enter” the first time. If you send from the courselist before the 8 th day, you will miss learners who have not yet entered the course. (Detailed information in the “Course How To” documents. Don ’t send welcome letters until Saturday as your course list may change if your section needs to be equalized. You do not receive notification if a new learner enters your course or if a learner drops/draws from the course so check the Manage Section Page often to ensure that you have an accurate class rooster. If your course is not filled (25 learners), you have the possibility of gaining new learners until the Saturday after courses start . I recommended checking the manage section page everyday until then. NOTE: You will return to the manage section page at the end of the course to post grades. Grades must be recorded so graduate credit providers can obtain the grade and learners can print certificates.
  6. See -Facilitator Course Checklist Document You will want to include all the information above and perhaps a statement that asks learners to reply to this e-mail to indicate that they received and read the e-mail. You should also set up a forum in the discussion board called- “Emails from Facilitator (Your name).” Post your welcome letter and all other group e-mail communication in that forum; this will ensure that learners have guaranteed access to course information. You won’t have to hear –”I never got your e-mail.” Learners can enroll until Friday, March 27, 2009, so keep checking the manage section page to see if additional learners enroll and send them your welcome email. Encourage learners to share home phone numbers so you can reach them on the weekends if necessary. It is also a good idea to post TeacherLine policies in your first course discussion board (usually the virtual café).
  7. New announcements with a suggested weekly schedule and any tips or suggestions should be posted weekly. The announcement page is a great place to post any of your personal policies (see late work guideline). D2L profile is located in the “Classlist.” Ask you learners to please keep in touch through the course as you can work with them through extenuating circumstances if you know it is occurring. For example, it is wise to share if you are going to be on vacation for a week of the course or if you are sick for a day or two. A short e-mail communication goes a long way! NOTE for inserting images: You can not use the copy/paste feature if you are using Firefox.
  8. If you haven’t received a course review during the 2010-2011, you will be receiving on this term.
