2. MY FAMILY My family is the most important thing to me. They have greatly influenced who I am as a person. My mom taught me the importance of family and education.
3. MY MOM My mom always asked my siblings and I about our days at school in order to illustrate the importance of family. Doing well in school was always a priority in my house when I was growing up. My mom made sure I did my homework and helped me if I had any questions. She always stressed the importance of getting good grades and going to college.
4. MY FRIENDS My friends have taught me to work hard at everything I do. They have told me to be the best I can be. They give me advice, I always know that I have someone to talk to. My closest friends always know how I am feeling, whether I am happy or sad.
5. KEY EVENT My best friend, Jackie, has always supported me in everything I do. Last semester I had to decide if I wanted to transfer to the U of M, Twin Cities from Morris. Jackie was my roommate in Morris and she helped me make my decision. She told me that I needed to do what was best for me and that she just wanted me to be happy.
6. ABOUT ME I started figure skating when I was eight years old. I experienced leadership in skating.
7. Leadership Is… The act of inspiring others to follow someone else’s path; using passion and personal stories to guide others.
