2. In what ways does your media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of a real media products
• Although, my magazine will challenge others on the market . I wanted to give it a more
modern look. This is why I chose to look at different genres as typical classical music
magazines have a bland or conventional image with the stereotypes which follow it. Whereas
I wanted to change this and make it appealing by using bright colours and having a bold
layout.
Soft rock magazine used to
challenge my ideas making it
more appealing to a
younger, modern audience
My chosen genre
magazine which I analysed
however wanted to
change to make it more
appealing and for my
magazine to follow but
have a less bland look.
3. How does your media product represent
particular social groups?
• I plan for my magazine to appeal to a younger classical music audience from the
age of 15-22 with the audience demographic being BC1
• The typical audience for my magazine would be a white middle class individual
who could be considered as tedious, however I want to challenge this and make it
more interesting to appeal having a quirky style.
4. Who would be the audience for your media
product?
• I plan for my magazine to appeal to a younger classical music audience from the age of
15-22 by having a younger audience it would mean they would be able to spread the
word about the magazine not just by word of mouth but by social networking websites
such as Facebook.
• I would also plan for the people to not just be interested in classical music but other
genres too.
• I have decided on this audience through asking people about my work, the majority of
the feedback has been good however people have suggested improvements which is
helpful as I have been able to adapt on these.
5. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product? Continued …
• For the layout of all my pages I used Microsoft word. By using word it enabled me
to use textboxes and effects to create a bold look by adjusting the weight of the
line.
• For my double page spread I had to change the orientation of the page to
landscape this again helped me as I could use half the page for my image then the
other half for the interview/ article.
• For all the text on my work, I used a website called font meme.
www.fontmeme.co.uk this gave me a range of fonts but also colours to go with it.
It gave me a wider choice rather then the simple fonts on Microsoft word.
