Australian Blak History Month Quiz
This Quiz was first used in July 2009 at Samford State School's Year 3 Australian Blak History celebrations.
The quiz is designed to be used in conjunction with the Great Moments in Blakhistory fact sheets (you can find them at www.inquirybites.com).
There are 15 questions in the quiz (slides 3 - 17) and the answers are in the second part of the presentation (slides 19 - 33).
The answers also have the "Great Moments in Blakistory" fact sheet number in the bottom left as a quick guide. For example, Question 10 is found on Fact Sheet 12/2008 (the #12 Fact Sheet produced in 2008).
In hindsight, I think the quiz is a little difficult for year 3 students. Particularly if the students have never heard names like Pemulwuy, Unaipon or Yagan.
I recommend creating a Great Moments in Blakistory folder, put each fact sheet in its own plastic pocket and let students explore the folder at their own pace. It may be the kind of activity that lasts for 2 or 3 weeks, and is worked on during spare class time.
You can find a Quiz Answer Sheet in the Blak History Month Student Workbook at www.blacklines.com.au. (This is a Microsoft Publisher document)
