Oil & Gas: SAFE CARE® cleaning products, specifically SC-1000 which is listed with the USEPA
National Oil & Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP), cleans by
reducing the surface tension of the oil at the substrate surface, weakening the polar
attraction of oil to the surface which then allows it to be rinsed from the surface and
captured. Major Oil & Gas service companies are drawn to the benefits of using non-toxic,
non-hazardous cleaners and solvents for a variety of applications including tank
cleaning, degassing, equipment maintenance, oil herding, oil/water separation and Rig
maintenance. Our high-performance non-ionic surfactant, SC-1000 and our non-evaporative,
water soluble solvent, SC-SuperSolv, have shown tremendous promise as

Bench testing was conducted with contaminated "mud" samples to
demonstrate release. We used our non-evaporative solvent called
SC-EZ-Solv to soften the tar-like petroleum in the soil. Then, we
introduced our nonionic surfactant called SC-1000 Aqueous Cleaner at a
5% solution which caused the petroleum and solvent to immediately
release and separate from the soil so that it could be captured at the top
of the water column.

Transportation:
SAFE CARE® and SAFE LUBE products are used very successfully in all areas
of the transportation industry. SAFE CARE® products may be used for drive-thru

Government facilities and installations use vast amounts of traditional
chemistries that do not comply with Executive Order 13101 and 13134, which

Commercially grown fruits and vegetables generally contain harmful residues of
pesticides, fungicides, fertilizers, food waxes and other organic soils. Many of the
contaminant soils found on fruits and vegetables contain petroleum distillates such
as paraffin or mineral oil. Other toxic chemicals include terpenes, glycol ethers and
reagents such as sodium hydroxide or ammonia compounds. These contaminants
are often derived from pest control and residual products from operating and/or
cleaning agricultural equipment. SAFE CARE® cleaning products and SAFE LUBE
industrial lubricants may improve or eliminate soil contamination, therefore
improving the overall safety and quality of the agricultural product. SAFE CARE®
cleaning products are USDA compliant and may be used in the process waters of
post harvest, fresh cut and processed fruits and vegetables. SAFE CARE®
products may be used in all major processing steps including multi-stage flumes,

PRODUCTS AT WORK - OIL & GAS # 1:
Heavy deposits of asphaltenes were first removed with a spatula, then SC-EZ-Solv Safety Solvent was spray
applied and agitated with a plastic brush to loosen the hydrocarbon build-up. After the majority of the
asphaltenes were removed, a 50% solution of SC-1000 Aqueous Cleaner was used with a pressure washer as a
final step in removing the hydrocarbon soil.

Cleaning large pistons from Wartsila engines in pump station using SC-SuperSolv Safety Solvent, our non-evaporative,
water miscible solvent, was sprayed applied and rinsed off with water.
For cleaning petroleum hydrocarbon, SC-1000 Aqueous Cleaner Concentrate at a 50% solution was sprayed on and wiped
off. Less product concentration could be used with additional dwell time and/or agitation.

Oil spill barriers were pre-treated with our non-evaporative solvent, SC-EZ-Solv Safety Solvent, to loosen the
heavy asphaltene deposits, then a 6% solution of SC-1000 Aqueous Cleaner was used as a final step to
remove the hydrocarbon soil and solvent.
SC-SuperSolv Safety Solvent, our non-evaporative, water miscible solvent was used to removed the polymerized petroleum
from the exterior of a tank.
For testing purposes, SC-SuperSolv was spray applied, allowed to dwell for 5 - 10 minutes before agitation. The soil was
removed with a water rinse.

Storage Vessel Decommissioning
We were asked to find a solution for removing and reclaiming petroleum hydrocarbons from storage vessels
located offshore. Although the exact type of contaminants are unknown, it is assumed that the contents
include crude oil, drilling muds, and/or organic materials with seawater.
We have proposed an 80/20 blend of SC-1000 Aqueous Cleaner Concentrate and SC-SuperSolv Safety
Solvent at a 2% solution. The product will be poured into the vessel and allowed to dwell for an extended
period of time. The use of heat or agitation is not practicable, and therefore will not be considered.
Day 1: The contaminants were put into the bottom of the beaker and seawater was poured into
the beaker. Then the blend of SC-1000 and SC-SuperSolv was added at a 2% concentration.
Day 2: Observed the release of micro-emulsion (gases) and a ring of lighter hydrocarbon
factions at the top.
Day 14: Observed the continued release of micro-emulsion (gases) with two distinct rings at
the top along with a transitional interfacial separation of hydrocarbon.
Day 15: Agitated the solution to observe whether phase separation will occur again.
Day 34: After the solution was agitated it took 4 days for the solution to start separating again.
You can see a ring of the light hydrocarbons at the top along with some of the black
hydrocarbons.
Day 34: We also observed reflective particles dispersed throughout the solution. We are not
able to determine what the particles are at this time as we do not want to disturb the solution
again.

SC-1000 Aqueous Cleaner Concentrate
DESCRIPTION: SC-1000 Aqueous Cleaner Concentrate is our most versatile and powerful non-ionic surfactant
system used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications. Comprised of fatty alcohols,
free fatty acids and fatty esters, SC-1000 is a colloidal solution that creates a unique
hydrocarbon release agent that can tolerate tremendous soil load. The powerful micelle
cleaning action of SC-1000 will cause long chain hydrocarbon soils including fats, greases, oils,
proteins and sugars to repel from the surface so that they can be rinsed away with water,
without damaging or reacting with the cleaning surface. SC-1000 is not a typical caustic
detergent or petroleum solvent, therefore it will not damage or react with the cleaning surface.

DESCRIPTION: SC-Multi-Surface Cleaner is an all-purpose, ready-to-use non-ionic surfactant cleaner
that will release hydrocarbon soils including fats, greases, oils, and sugars without

SC-ActiSolv Safety Solvent
DESCRIPTION: SC-ActiSolv is a low volatile, fatty alcohol solvent derived from renewable plant-based resources.
SC-ActiSolv may be used in a variety of cleaning applications including polymerized lubricants,
fuels, acrylic and oil-based paints, printing inks and coatings. SC-ActiSolv may also be used as a
co- solvent or solvent additive in non-ionic surfactant solutions for heavy-duty degreasing.
Highly water-miscible, SC-ActiSolv may be free rinsed with hot or cold water and is intended to
loosen hardened hydrocarbon soils. SC- ActiSolv is chemically non-reactive, storage stable and
highly reusable for several weeks in conventional solvent recovery machines, ultrasonic
degreasers and hand operations. SC-ActiSolv complies with:

DESCRIPTION: SC-Carpet & Upholstery Spotter & Shampoo is comprised of non-ionic surfactants and a water
hardness modifier to create a powerful micelle cleaning action that can tolerate tremendous soil
loads. SC-Carpet & Upholstery Spotter & Shampoo penetrates and lifts hydrocarbon soils
including fats, oils, greases, proteins and sugars without damaging carpeting fibers or
upholstery fabrics or their backing and substrate materials. Because SC-Carpet & Upholstery
Spotter & Shampoo is most effective on organic soils, it is not recommended for use on items
that have been dyed with “natural” colorants.

INSTRUCTIONS: For best results, SC-Carpet & Upholstery Spotter & Shampoo should be used with extraction
equipment. Recommend pre-testing product on “dry-cleaning only” items before application.
Spotting: Scrape hardened soil such as dried food, dirt or chewing gum before applying product
full strength to spots. Product may be applied with a spray bottle. For best results, agitate with
a nylon brush and allow 5 – 10 minutes of dwell time before extraction cleaning. It is important
to remove all residual product with a water rinse to prevent re-soiling.
Shampooing: Follow manufacturers recommended dilution schedule for preparing cleaning
solution in extraction machines. Generally 1% (1 oz. per gallon) of SC-Carpet & Upholstery
Spotter & Shampoo is adequate for warm water extraction. For best results, rinse all areas after
shampooing with warm water.

INSTRUCTIONS: SC-EZ-Solv may be spray applied, or applied by a cloth, and allowed to dwell before being wiped
from the cleaning surface. When removing graffiti or adhesive from painted surfaces, care must
be taken to wash the SC-EZ-Solv from the surface after removal of the soil in order to prevent
further solvating of the surface. SC-EZ-Solv will react with polystyrene, polysulphates, and
acrylics, while prolonged exposure will cause some types of rubber, PVC, EPDM and ABS to
become softened over time. SC- EZ-Solv also works effectively in ultrasonic cleaners and
automatic parts washers.

SC-Floor & Tile Cleaner
DESCRIPTION: Based on our proprietary formulation, SC-Floor & Tile Cleaner brings state-of-the-
art surfactant technology to industrial cleaning. SC-Floor & Tile Cleaner is a
concentrated cleaning solution proven to effectively clean floors including ceramic
tile, vinyl, polyresin, linoleum, and marble. SC-Floor & Tile Cleaner does not contain
harmful caustics, which cause damage to grout and the floor finish. SC-Floor & Tile

INSTRUCTIONS: Use warm water, if possible, and mop or machine-wash as usual.
For dried on soil such as food or chewing gum scrape up as much as possible before
pre-treating with full-strength SC-Floor & Tile Cleaner. Allow product to dwell for 5 -
10 minutes, then agitate with a nylon brush and mop as usual. For soiled grout, let
solution stand for 5 minutes before scrubbing grout with a stiff bristle brush. For
best results, rinse with clean water to remove soil and residual product.

10 minutes before agitating with a nylon brush. For best results, rinse soil and
residual product with an aqueous cleaning solution. Warning: Pre-test small

not be left on surfaces for a prolonged period of time because it will remove most
paints or may damage some acrylic surfaces.

SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner
DESCRIPTION: SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner is intended for grease trap maintenance to solubilize
fats, eliminate odors, and keep drain pipes clean of accumulated fats. SC-Grease Trap
& Drain Cleaner is a combination of our powerful SC-1000 cleaning chemistry with
biodigesters called bacillus septillus in spore form. When used for routine
maintenance, SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner effectively removes food greases
and paraffins without damaging equipment and pipes like hazardous caustics or
solvents. SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner complies with:
INSTRUCTIONS: If a grease trap is already impacted by fatty effluent and organic matter, it may be
necessary to completely clean the tank and waste lines back to the sanitary discharge
unit. If calcites have built-up over time, it may be necessary to do an acid wash with
SC-OmniBrite Acid before using SC- Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner. Thereafter, use 1
gallon of SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner per 10-gallon capacity and let stand for 20
minutes by blocking off the drainpipe exit. Drain the tank and rinse thoroughly. For
drain cleaning, block downstream drain and back fill floor drain system with a hose
attached to the hot water supply until floor drains begin to back up at floor level.
Add 8 ounces of SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner at each floor drain, sink drain and
drain inlets; allow to dwell overnight; then drain. To maintain a "healthy" bio
environment, pour 8 oz. of SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner into each drain every day
until the grease trap remains free of organic build-up then reduce to once a week for
routine maintenance.

DESCRIPTION: SC-Odor-Ex Odor Neutralizer is a true odor destroyer that eliminates unpleasant
odors on contact. Derived from 100% plant- based ingredients, SC-Odor-Ex Odor
Neutralizer works by breaking key chemical bonds such as sulfur, ammonia, hydrogen
sulfide, and butyl mercaptan so that they are not detectable by smell. Unlike

DESCRIPTION: SC-Oven & Grill Cleaner is an industrial strength non-ionic linear alcohol surfactant
system, based on our SC-1000 formulation which penetrates and lifts hydrocarbon
soils such as fats, oils, greases, proteins and sugars without damaging the cleaning
surface. SC-Oven & Grill Cleaner cuts through organic soils without any dangerous
chemicals or caustic fumes and does not require the use of protective clothing or
gear. The SC-Oven & Grill Cleaner formulation does not contain abrasives, caustics or
CFCs and complies with:
INSTRUCTIONS: Apply SC-Oven & Grill Cleaner directly to grill or oven surface; and allow 3 - 5 minutes
of dwell time before agitating with a scrubber or brush, then rinse thoroughly with
warm water. For heavy soil such as baked on grease and fat, spray apply at full
strength and dwell in warm oven (110°F) for 10 - 15 minutes, then agitate and rinse as
indicated. Increased dwell time (20 minutes) should reduce the scrubbing effort.

SC-Premium Laundry Detergent
DESCRIPTION: SC-Premium Laundry Detergent is a dramatic departure from traditional salt-based detergents
that use artificial foam builders, dyes, fragrances and thickeners, which can irritate skin and
cause allergic reactions in chemically sensitive people. Based upon plant esters from apples, oats,
corn, and soy, SC-Premium Laundry Detergent is based on a non-ionic surfactant system for
loosening and removing organic soils without damaging fibers. SC-Premium Laundry Detergent
also contained a protein allergen neutralizer, referred to as our EX formulation, which has been
proven effective against protein allergens from dust mite droppings, dog dander and cat saliva.
SC-Premium Laundry Detergent does not contain caustics or phosphates and complies with the

DESCRIPTION: SAFE CARE® Steel Bright Polish is a blend of vegetable oils along with a plant-based
solvent to create a unique compound that cleans while it leaves a “like-new” finish.
SC-Steel Bright is a food grade cleaner designed for use on stainless steel and most
other metal surfaces such as chromium, aluminum, zinc, mild steel, brass, copper and
silver. A light application of SC-Steel Bright will leave a protective coating to help
retard tarnishing and restores the metal surface to a brilliant shine without hard
rubbing and polishing.
SC- Steel Bright is an ideal replacement for traditional petroleum-based mineral oil
cleaners or polishing agents.

SC-SoyEster Safety Solvent
DESCRIPTION: SC-SoyEster is a powerful non-evaporative solvent that creates an effective release
agent for heavy grease, oil and tar, as well as organic and some inorganic inks. A
blend of soy methyl ester and other vegetable esters, SC-SoyEster is 100% plant-based
and ideal for cleaning tools, parts and equipment in the transportation and
printing industries. SC-SoyEster is not water-soluble and may be used with other
plant-based solvents and surfactant systems for more effective cleaning.

INSTRUCTIONS: SC-SoyEster may be spray applied, or applied by a cloth, and allowed to dwell
before being wiped from the cleaning surface. When removing ink, care must be
taken to rinse the residual SC- SoyEster from the surface to prevent further solvating.
It can be completely removed from the surface by rinsing with warm water or an
aqueous surfactant cleaning solution such as SC-1000 Aqueous Cleaner. SC-SoyEster
also works effectively in ultrasonic cleaners and automatic parts washers.
