- and this is something I started to realize when working in my role as K-5 elem computer teacher in 4 buildings- first started with wikispaces, social media\nBernajean Porter-  using technology begins with being literate with the tools, the the tools become adaptive (using a new technology to do an old thing), then it becomes transformative, where you use the new technology to do a new thing. \n

- Our students are building digital footprints and we have to help make sure they’re positive. It’s happening NOW. Stop worrying about 5-10 yrs from now. We need to help our kids NOW. \nHow many of you have Googled yourself? You want to make sure what’s coming up on that search is what you want to define you. We have to model this.\n\n

- We don’t want our teachers working in isolation behind closed doors. We’re on PLC kicks and collaboration and planning and such. Let’s work to get them connected with one another and with the world. Technology can help us do this. Start small... google docs, Diigo, etc. \n\nInitial trepidations: \n-I dont have the time\n-No one wants to hear what I have to say \n-What if someone I work with reads this!? \n
