Notes de l'éditeur
The Everest Syndrome “Those who have succumbed to this syndrome believe that computers should be brought into educational settings simply because they are there. They believe further that mere exposure to computers will be beneficial to students, that computers ought to be used for any and all tasks for which software is available or imaginable, and that, if schools can only obtain a sufficient quantity of hardware and software, quality will take care of itself” (Maddux, 1988, p.5)
Not appropriate for every student in every context. No systematic research on the impact of technology. Teachers most important influence on student learning.
Learning is knowledge acquisition • Transferable entity
• Knowledge transmission model • Information pushed from the Web to the learner • ‘Cut and paste’ culture
Typing is none of these things. If typing skills are holding the student back maybe we are asking them to type to much.
