Editor's Notes

  1. How to customize this template: -Start by adding the prospective partner’s logo to the bottom of all of the slides next to the CASA logo. Do this by going into “View” and choosing “slide master.” In the slide masters, insert the prospective partner’s logo next to the CASA logo. If your program uses a GAL logo or other this can be updated in the ‘slide master view’ as well. -Where you see brackets [ ] fill in the information as prompted. Delete information or entire slides that are not relevant to your local CASA/GAL program. -Before sending this to a prospective partner, delete all of the instructions contained in the notes sections
  2. The following slides paint a national picture. If it strengthens your case, add or substitute in statistics from your region. Or, if the prospective partner is already familiar with CASA, remove slides as necessary.
  3. Your partnership objectives will depend on your existing relationship with the company. These are some sample objectives but they should be tailored based on knowledge ascertained through preliminary meetings/phone calls and Internet research. Try to get partner to give specific goals/objectives they hope to meet by partnering with you. Don’t forget to thoroughly search company’s Web sites, including brands that would be good for partnership. Note current philanthropic commitments and if company has corporate mission/vision statements
  4. You might add verbally that “Approximately two-thirds of foster kids are without the independent voice of a CASA advocate and languish in our overburdened social welfare system”
  5. The next several slides outline the role of the CASA volunteer. It states our key value proposition and mission in consistent language, which helps us build the CASA brand further. You generally will keep many of these slides in every deck. If you use a different identifier such as “Volunteer Advocate” or “Volunteer GAL” you can customize accordingly.
  6. Or, if the company only has local interest, use this slide to show the local reach.
  7. In the blue box, enter the dollar amount it takes to provide a CASA/GAL volunteer for one year. If you don’t have this information, use the national average of $1,070 or $89 per month.
  8. Explain this slide verbally by saying, “One paid CASA supervisor can support 30 volunteers, a cost-effective way to ensure that 90 foster kids have a voice in court.”
