1. Mark John Rees
CTO, Century Software
Over his 30+ years as a programmer, Mark has
programmed in many languages, but has the
most fun programming in Python which he has
been using since 1997 aka Python 1.4. He is a
contributor to a number of Python Open Source.
He is currently Chief Technology Officer for
Century Software (M) Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian
software solutions company that uses Python &
Open Source software in many of itʼs offerings.
He has spoken at a number of Open Source
conferences including OSDC.au, MOSDC, PyCon
AU & Pycon APAC.
2. Ryusuke Kajiyama
MySQL Sales Consulting Manager, Asia Pacific &
Japan
Kajiyama-san is responsible for pre-sales activities,
covering all Asia including GC, HK and India. He also
work as certified MySQL instructor, delivering
trainings in those regions.
Prior to joining Sun (MySQL), he worked as Systems
Consultant at Nomura Research Institute, Japan’s
largest consulting firm, working on systems design of
mission critical enterprise systems utilizing open
source software. Major customers are Nomura
Securities, E*Trade Japan, Seven-Eleven, Japan Post,
and Nikkei Inc. He is well-versed in both business
and technology of open source software.
3. Harish Pillay

Mr. Harish Pillay has been Chief Technology
Architect, South Asia of Red Hat Inc., since
September 29, 2003. Mr. Pillay is responsible for
revenue growth in South Asia through the
expansion of Red Hat resources and enterprise

Pillay co-founded the Linux Users'' Group
Singapore in 1993. He is a senior member of the

He is a software developer living in Hong Kong who
like rock & roll, sports and photography.
He was the co-founder and founding chairman of
Hong Kong Linux User Group which is established in
1997. He also act as advisor of Opensource
Application Knowledge Association since 2006, and
built opensource.hk web site to keep promoting open
source. He wrote Linux articles for PC Weekly in
1999, and contributes Linux articles for a couple of
years since 2001.

6. Patrick Beaucamp
Founder / CEO BPM-Conseil, France
Patrick Beaucamp is founder and Ceo of
Bpm-conseil, a french company first dedicated to
business intelligence (BI) and BPM platform
integration.
With almost 20 years of experience in BI area, with
participation in early 90s to Cognos PowerPlay &
Impromptu launch in West Europe, Patrick has
founded in 2007 the Vanilla Open Source BPI Project,

8. Chris Ong Chin Kai
Novell Malaysia
Chris Ong started his 11 years working
experience as application engineer, Linux
Administrator and Solutions Architect. One of
the biggest achievements throughout this period
is to get involved with Air Asia in expanding
their web and booking engine infrastructure.
He got his first involvement with Novell as a
Novell Technical Service Engineer (NTS),
covering Novell Premium Customer in Malaysia
and Singapore. After the short disembarking
from Novell, he returned to Novell as Technical
Sales Specialist (TSS), carrying out pre-sales and
partner enablement activity focusing on
PlateSpin product family, Privileged User
Management, Open Enterprise Server,
GroupWise and Vibe Collaboration solutions.

9. Errazudin Ishak
Errazudin holds a Master’s degree in Computer
Science (Sofware Engineering) and works as a
Solutions Architect at Bell Digital Media
(Australia), based in Kuala Lumpur. While his
night job might vary from part time security
guard, chef and drifter, his day job focuses on
web application architecture, deployment,
security, performance and stability.
He has spoken at several meet-ups and
conferences and has worked with various
back-end and web technologies. In his free time
he loves to emulate Rafael Nadal’s swerving
forehand on court, or trying to be nice to his 2
male cats.
10. Sam Moffatt
Sam Moffatt is a long term web applications
developer with a broad range of experience from
the government and university sector in
Australia to eBay in the US as well as long
contributions to the Joomla! Project.
Sam is presently working on real time analytics
systems for Sears Holdings in San Jose,
California. Sam's work at Sears takes him from
system administration with Puppet to building
scalable systems using Storm.
11. Tim Chandler
GeoMash Sdn Bhd
Tim has in excess of 10 years experience in
technology and is a well know figure in open
source and PHP communities in Australia. Tim
joined DMSBT as a senior developer and was
quickly promoted to lead developer. In 2011,

Tim joined Praxis BT as employee number two
and CTO.
Tim has been the organizer of the Sydney PHP
Users Group since 2005, which today enjoys a
membership of close to 400 and is a co-founder
of the South East Asia Technology Syndicate.
12. Azani Arshad,
LPI, Master Affiliate for ASEAN
Azani has tremendous experience in the IT and
Telecom industry for the last 20 years. He
started his career in the hospitality industry and
then moved to financial and banking industry in
developing the financial trade system.
Upon joining LPI, Azani has been heading
numerous important
technical projects, including one where he
designed and built a
state--‐of--‐the--‐art 24/7 contact center in
Malaysia. He has also been working with a
company called Panapto, a US--‐based company
which specialized in providing software solution
for video lecture capture in Education and
Enterprise market.
Currently, he is driving the business
development for LPI in ASEAN region in
Education and Enterprise markets.
13. Frans Van Der Star
Founder Star Consulting, Netherlands
In 1992, Frans van der Star at the time he was 42
years of age he came across with Open Source
Phenomena during workshop of the Ministry in the
Netherlands and started using Ubuntu. Through
interaction with international Open Source
Communities he started his exploration and
research into accountancy and ERP-software due to

his core activities as accountant in Holland.
Until now he has been actively involved into
LedgerSMB, Idempiere (fork of Adempiere) and Open
Taps. Although his residence is now Teluk Intan,
where he has been teaching since 2011 Open Source
Software training and English at SUWA Independant
Chinese Secondary school and supply consultancy to
various companies he is able to participate within
the national and world-wide communities. He is a
regular guest-speaker at various Malaysian Open
Source conferences.
He has successfully completed his studies:
accountancy, law and human resource at an
academic level. He is father of two daughters and a
son and grandfather of six grandsons who are
currently living in the Netherlands.

Choon Ming hails from Malaysia where he
currently resides. By profession, he is a system
administrator; but by interest, he dwells into
security and is an avid food traveler. Hates
traditional 9 to 5 jobs and prefers to work
whenever his mood permits it. He mainly
focuses on cloud technologies, CDN and Puppet
configuration management of late. When not
working on anything tech-related, he prefers to
explore new places for food and read books in a
quiet and serene atmosphere or listen to oldies
music.

16. Sanjay Willie

Sanjay Willie has a little over 10 years of
experience in working with several open source
products and has a keen passion & gathered
specific skills in IS security. He co-founded four
startups in Malaysia since 2008 and is currently
a director and co-owner of Astiostech Sdn Bhd,
OrenCloud Sdn Bhd and a tripartite consortium,
Ada Technologies Sdn Bhd. His drive and passion
is to continuously simplify technology for easy
consumption while building solutions to
hopefully solve problems and/or create new

17. Suhas Desai leads mobile security services at
Aujas with extensive experience in the mobile
payments, enterprise and B2C mobile apps
security. Desai is a frequent speaker at
prominent industry and customer forums.

18. Prof Dr Zaharin Yusoff is currently a professor in
computational linguistics at Universiti Malaysia
Sarawak (UNIMAS) since May 2011, and a fellow
of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia since
March 1999.
He began his career in 1980 at Universiti Sains
Malaysia (USM), where he served for 25 years,

including being Coordinator of the
Computer-Aided Translation Unit [1989-98], the
founding Dean of the School of Computer
Sciences [1991-2003], and later the Dean of
Research (ICT Platform) [2003-05]. He was also
the Task Force Leader of the Multimedia Super
Corridor Telemedicine Flagship Application
[March – July 1997].
At USM, he was appointed Associate Professor in
July 1988 and a full Professor in April 1995.
In August 2005, he went on secondment to
MIMOS, where he served as Senior Director of
the Productisation Unit [2005-06], and then of
the Artificial Intelligence Centre as well as of the
Knowledge Technology Centre from September
2006 to May 2007. In the rest of 2007, he was
the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies at
UNITEN, before moving on to be the President of
Multimedia University (MMU) from January 2008
to December 2010, during which period he was
the Alternate Chairman to the National ICT
Human Resource Task Force, and the Lead for
the e–Health EPP (Entry Point Project) under the
national NKEA programme. He was also a Senior
Consultant at Gagasan Wibawa Sdn. Bhd. [March
2011 – September 2012] within the Andaman
Group Malaysia, leading a team to plan and
establish a boutique university for ICT, as part of
a national initiative.
