2. Our Situation An experienced policewoman, Nina Hobson, went undercover and gained unprecedented behind-the-scenes access of police officers. Using secret cameras, she documented her encounters of the officers as they displayed disturbing lack of respect for members of the public and numerous accounts of dereliction of duty. Overall members of the community are outraged at such revelations shown in this video. The scandal has fumigated those in need of police officers, and also those who thought they were constantly being protected as they went about living day to day in their communities.

7. Source Credibility Another main goal of this campaign is to gain the trust of the community. In order to obtain this trust the police department’s will be hosting PR Campaigns in the heart of communities everywhere in which they themselves will be attending. We want the people to acknowledge that the police department is enforcing changes and have a strong desire to improve for the sake of the people.

Cognitive Dissonance We realize that often times many police officers obtain the reputation of being dishonest and violent, yet we plan on eradicating this rumor by going out in the community and giving the people a change to actually meet these officers. At this time, they will be able to ask them any questions they may have and simply communicate with the men who are protecting them day to day.

10. Suggestions for Action We feel that getting the police officers out in the community will be proof that this matter is being taken seriously. It is not just a headline on a sign, or an agreement to sign up for. Instead, it is something that only their presence will justify. By simply attending, and listening, the community will then find out that the police have a new and improved way of going about their duty that they want to share with the community.
