- Fun is not only stress buster - fun is memory booster. Fun connects – fun unifiesFun brings many sub audience to a single audience – like cross currents of a turbulent stream into a smooth flow – fun clears road blocks. We discuss some ideas to infuse fun in a club meeting
- To begin with - It is the YOU factor –the moderator - who will be also fun generator.– a positive attitude – a smile –certain warmth - connecting the audience with an invisible thread. There is a beautiful Buddhist concept of ‘META” –which means loving compassion. Trying to radiate a feel good thought wave – wave of happinessI bring a beautiful analogy by Mark Twain – who identifies human speech organ akin to playing an organ.Lord ! What an Organ is Human speech - when it is played by a MasterA certain eloquence - words delighting ears , stirs the soul .
- Once the vibes are set - humor – wits – one liners – are sure shots as starters. Mischievous stories are good options .Laughing at yourself - EXPANDLions are absolutely down to earth- very social –fun loving – bubbly – bouncy type sNot the typical intellectual or philosopher type.The golden rule is -Not too many stories - not too long storiesVideo age has sped up our cognitive power – we receive information very quicklySo Long stories draw a long face
- Shakespeare’s age old poem holds good for Lions too. Choosing Outdoor is a great place for fun – for Lions and their families. It connects us with nature and brings instant happiness. Great place to organize games – skits and do club business in between.So it will be a good idea to organize some meeting outdoor. Sometimes meeting at a service project like health camp at a city suburb or a remote village becomes lively
- In the business of fun let’s have a look inside the fun tool box. Be it out door or indoor .Fun elements – one may device his own tools – innovation brings surprises and surprises brings euphoria. Some times Repeating diminishes fun.Thematic - Birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, religious celebrations, new year, dance ,songWe may include some fun ideas for 15 minutes Quiz – questions, skits, mouse mischief,We have shown two interactive panel which may be used as templates to set quiz questions. One template is a parrot card. You may use this template for sooth saying or lucky draw, or your luck or choosing dance pairs(funny sayings– the participant who will pick this number has to perform the act mentioned in sooth saying) The interactive panel may be used for quiz items.In a whole day setting Games are good idea – musical chair, housie, cricket, sports events like three legged race involving couples
- Class room learning is obviously not for adult lions. Yet we have to impart training at the club level - on our strategies – our program – The best way to impart training is through fun.Neck of the familyOn family membership - We told that if men are head of the family women are neck of the family. We told that it is the neck which decides in which way the head would rotate. Each Couple Lion( both man and woman) were asked to tell a real life incident supporting the theory.It was fun all the way and We could provide information the entire topic of Family membership in the processOne may invent his own fun learning tool
- Icing with technology - Mouse mischiefThis free software from Microsoft is a great fun tool. With the help of six to eight wireless mouse we may devise many types of quiz on Club orientation, quest program, Peace poster.Participants click the quiz answers. The correct answers and the first participant to hit the correct answer is determined by the computer.We organized a quiz on club orientation, designed after a popular TV serial of India Kaunbanega Club Pati ( who becomes the boss of the club) . It was great fun.
- As I conclude – fun removes boredom and enlivens the meeting like a sparkling wine. Fun increases attendance. Fun helps retention – fun brings new member
