Minimally Invasive Cosmetic

Easy Ways To Have A Better Smile
Easy Ways To Have A Better
Smile
Many people dread going to the dentist. This fear
often stems from the common misconception that
dental treatments are always painful. Proper dental
care is vital to health and success, yet many people
fail to get the treatments they need because they
avoid dentists. The truth is cosmetic dentistry is not
necessarily painful. Many dental problems are
treatable with only minimally invasive procedures.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a procedure done for stained
and discolored teeth. There are many techniques
available to do this.
Teeth Whitening
 Laser whitening works by applying a chemical gel
to the teeth and then using a laser to activate the
gel's whitening effects on the teeth. One office
visit is enough for this procedure.
Teeth Whitening

 Tray bleaching requires wearing a tray with
bleaching gel over your teeth. The patient
wears the tray for a short time each day and
this gradually whitens the teeth. This is
useful because it is inexpensive, done at
home, and the gradual effects keeps others
from noticing the difference in your smile as
    much.
Teeth Whitening

 Whitening strips sold in most
                supermarkets and drug
                stores. These take about a
week for the full effects to
                work.
Tooth Veneers
Tooth veneers hide discolored and stained teeth
as well as chipped or crooked teeth. A thin piece of
porcelain or plastic attaches to the teeth with a type
of glue or dental cement. This procedure only
requires one or two office visits and a minimal
amount of tooth reduction to make room for the
veneer. Usually less than a millimeter is enough to
provide the necessary room. These veneers last for
10 to 15 years.
Lumineers
                Lumineers are very similar to
normal tooth veneers except for the
            type of porcelain. Lumineers are
cerinate porcelain. This is so thin
that no tooth reduction is necessary.
            They are usable over existing
            crowns and bridges. The procedure
is also reversible in most cases.
Only one or two office visits is
enough to have these on your teeth.
Dental Bonding
A mild acidic solution creates very small crevices
in the tooth enamel. This gives the tooth a rough
surface where a resin bonds with the tooth. Once
enough coats of the resin is on the tooth and
hardened, the dentist sculpts this into the desired
shape and then polishes.
Tooth Contouring and Reshaping
Tooth contouring sometimes takes just a single
session with a dentist if only minimal changes are
necessary. A few slight reductions made on the
problem teeth and then the dentist applies a bit of
laminate creating a beautiful smile. The patient feels
almost no discomfort.
There are many options available with cosmetic
dentistry for people who want to improve the look
and color of their teeth. Most of these procedures do
not require any anesthetic since they are not
invasive or painful to the patient. Positive changes in
the appearance of the teeth occur relatively quickly
using these procedures. The dentist's office should
no longer be a place to avoid when there are so
many easy ways to have a great smile.
