December 4          Stress                Family Advocacy Program offers this free session held at Army Community
1:30 – 3:30 pm      Management            Service on how best to cope and deal with stress. The Holiday season can

December 4          Annual Holiday        Military Families are invited to The Commons to enjoy Fort Drum‟s Annual
5 – 7 pm            Celebration           Holiday Celebration. The CYSS Choir will sing a selection of Christmas
                                          songs. You will also have the opportunity to have a free photo and visit
                                          with Santa and each child will receive a toy. You will also be offered dinner
                                          of pizza, cookies from Mrs. Claus and her elfin helpers and punch which will
                                          be provided to everyone in attendance. Magic and balloon creations by
                                          Jason the Entertainer and holiday crafts are offered to children keep
                                          everyone in the holiday spirit. This is a highly attended free event with
                                          doors opening and activities beginning at 5 pm. Military Family Members
                                          who pre-register at www.operationbestwishes.com can participate in
                                          Operation Best Wishes where families can record holiday greetings to send

December 4          SELF Group            The NEW YOU Women's Empowerment group has a new name! SELF
5 – 8 pm            Meeting               encourages Fort Drum Women to live a lifestyle that includes caring for

December 5          Employment 101        Learn the basics of searching and applying for a job. Learn how to conduct a
9 – 11 am                                 Job Search, Write Your Resume & Cover Letter and Ace an Interview with
                                          Employment Readiness. This class is held at The Soldiers and Family
                                          Advocacy Program Building P-11042. Additional classes are scheduled on
                                          December 6 and 18 and will be held at Army Community Service.

December 5, 6,    Middle Year       Held at Army Community Service, this class is designed to assist parents
&7                Parenting         with children between 5 & 10. Topics include: development, discipline,
9 – 11:30 am                        handling sibling rivalry, communication skills, establishing family rules,

December 5        FRG Sponsorship   Family Readiness Group administrative staff members will learn the
3:15 – 3:45       Training          regulations and proper procedures when soliciting sponsorship for FRG

December 6        Holiday Ham       This buffet luncheon will be held in The Winner‟s Circle at the Commons
11 am – 1:30      Buffet Luncheon   and the menu includes baked honey glazed ham, roasted medley of sweet,
                                    russet and red potatoes, glazed baby carrots with pineapple, rolls with
                                    butter, bread pudding and beverage for $7.95 per person.

December 6        Fort Drum         Join your friends and neighbors at the Fort Drum Main Post Chapel for
5 pm              Holiday Tree      the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. Enjoy Christmas caroling,
                  Lighting          the official lighting of the tree and a visit from Santa. Following the
                                    ceremony join us in the Youth Center for a reception featuring family
                                    activities, cookies, drinks and pictures with Santa.

December 8        2012 Volleyball   This tournament will be conducted at Monti Physical Fitness Center. Open
9:30 am           Tournament        to active duty military assigned/attached to Fort Drum, Family members 19
                                    years and older, retirees, reservists, and DoD civilians employed on Fort

December 8        EFMP Holiday      Free bowling and holiday activities for Fort Drum Families registered with

December 8        Teen Middle       A holiday dance for teens in grades 6 – 8 at the Fort Drum Youth Center
