Through January Dress A Winter is here, it is cold outside, and it is time to “Dress a Snowman” at
15 Snowman the McEwen Library. There are blank snowman entry forms for pick up
Library Hours Contest during regular Library hours and entries will be accepted through January
15. This activity is open to Library Patrons of all ages.

January 16 AFAP FRTI Facilitator, Recorder, Transcriber, Issue Support (FRTI) Training for the
9 am – noon Training Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) Conference. This training will allow FRTI
Teams to meet one another and learn their role in facilitating the AFAP
workgroups towards reaching workable solutions to the issues discussed

January 18 Veterans’ Veteran‟s benefits have undergone recent changes. This Information Day
9 am – 3 pm Information Day brings together Federal, State and non-profit organizations in one location
to provide a face-to-face interaction between Veterans, their Families and
Survivors. This is a great opportunity for active duty and former service
members to find out about benefits, entitlements and services available to
them at an on-the-spot, one-stop information. This gathering of Veteran‟s
information will be at the Dulles State Office Building in Watertown, NY.

January 18 Teen Midnight Teens in grades 6 - 12 can enjoy a pick-up game of basketball and play until
8 pm - midnight Sports midnight at the Fort Drum Youth Center. Cost is $3 for Youth Center
Members and $5 for non-members which include snacks and drink.

January 19 BOSS 5K Fun 5K Fun Run/Walk registration begins at 8:30 with the run beginning at 9 am
9 am Run/Walk at the Magrath Sports Complex overflow parking lot. This event is open to

January 22 FRG Leader Army Community Service Mobilization & Deployment Program will teach
4:30 – 6:30 pm Training you tips and skills which will assist you in being an effective FRG Leader.

January 22 Informal Funds Army Community Service Mobilization & Deployment Program teaches this
1:30 – 2:30 pm Training class at the ACS building to Family Readiness Group members on the
regulations and policies regarding the raising and spending of unit and FRG

January 23 AFTB Level II The Army Family Team Building Level II course targets leaders and is
9 am – 4 pm geared toward professional growth and development and communication
skills, stress management, conflict resolution, and more. This is a free two-
day training held at Army Community Service. Registration is encouraged
and free child care is available through CYSS hourly care with class pre-

January 24 Debt Blasters Army Community Service Financial Readiness Program will teach
9 – 11 am participants a way to decrease and eliminate their debts in a much quicker
time frame. Don't suffer with too much debt, let FRP help you become debt

January 24 BOSS Hockey It's Slap Shot Time! Join BOSS at the Privateers vs Williamsport home game
6:30 pm Game Trip in Watertown. Cost is $15 per person and covers transportation and ticket
to the game. The bus will leave BOSS Nash Blvd. at 6:30 pm. Space is

January 25 CYSS Indoor Youth ages 10 - 18 can enjoy indoor paintball at the Youth Center. A
6 – 10 pm Paintball required safety brief is held at 6 pm and a completed parent permission slip
