Profits from the Discovery Ball will support the expansion of services at the Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel.
Local girl Lynsey Collinson is taking fundraising to new heights following her inspirational trip to Rwanda in 2012 with the Aegis trust - the leading UK-based international genocide prevention organisation.
Through her fundraising event the Discovery Ball, Lynsey hopes to support the expansion of services at the Discover Rwanda Youth hostel, which is a social enterprise of the Aegis Trust.
Funds generated by the youth hostel are essential in maintaining Aegis-run programmes in Rwanda, including their Rebuilding Lives Progamme, which supports survivors of the Rwandan genocide, and their Peace-building Education Programme, which brings children of perpetrators and survivors together to help prevent future atrocities.

and the dissemination of information and advice."
Aegis treats genocide as a public health issue with three phases:
Primary Prevention: Research, remembrance and learning about the past,
creating community resilience against the risk of genocide in the future
Secondary Prevention: Evidence-based campaigns to stop mass atrocities
in the present
Tertiary prevention: Supporting survivors and communities to rebuild when
genocide is past
