David Hume was an influential Scottish philosopher who lived in Edinburgh. He attended the University of Edinburgh and is known for his work on epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, politics, economics, and history. A statue of Hume stands at the University of Edinburgh in recognition of his contributions to philosophy.
