3. Matthew 6:5-13 NKJV
And when you pray, you shall not be like
the hypocrites. For they love to pray
standing in the synagogues and on the
corners of the streets, that they may be
seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they
have their reward. [6] But you, when you
pray, go into your room, and when you have
shut your door, pray to your Father who is
in the secret place; and your Father who
sees in secret will reward you openly.
4. Matthew 6:5-13 NKJV Continued
[7] And when you pray, do not use vain
repetitions as the heathen do. For they
think that they will be heard for their
many words. [8] Therefore do not be like
them. For your Father knows the things
you have need of before you ask Him. [9]
In this manner, therefore, pray:
5. Matthew 6:5-13 NKJV Continued
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your
name. [10] Your kingdom come. Your will
be done on earth as it is in heaven.
[11] Give us this day our daily bread.
[12] And forgive us our debts, as we
forgive our debtors. [13] And do not lead
us into temptation, but deliver us from
the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom
and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.
7. Psalm 34:15-18 NIV
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their cry;
[16] the face of the Lord is against those
who do evil, to cut off the memory of
them from the earth. [17] The righteous
cry out, and the Lord hears them; he
delivers them from all their troubles.
[18] The Lord is close to the
brokenhearted and saves those who are
crushed in spirit.
12. 1 Peter 4:7
The end of all things is near.
Therefore be clear minded
and self-controlled so that
you can pray.
13. Acts 2:42
They devoted themselves to
the apostles' teaching and to
the fellowship, to the breaking
of bread and to prayer.
14. Acts 12:5-11
So Peter was kept in prison, but the church
was earnestly praying to God for him. [6]
The night before Herod was to bring him to
trial, Peter was sleeping between two
soldiers, bound with two chains, and
sentries stood guard at the entrance. [7]
Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared
and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter
on the side and woke him up. quot;Quick, get
up!quot; he said, and the chains fell off Peter's
wrists.
15. Acts 12:5-11 Continued
[8] Then the angel said to him, quot;Put
on your clothes and sandals.quot; And
Peter did so. quot;Wrap your cloak
around you and follow me,quot; the
angel told him. [9] Peter followed
him out of the prison, but he had no
idea that what the angel was doing
was really happening; he thought he
was seeing a vision.
16. Acts 12:5-11 Continued
[10] They passed the first and second
guards and came to the iron gate leading to
the city. It opened for them by itself, and
they went through it. When they had walked
the length of one street, suddenly the angel
left him. [11] Then Peter came to himself
and said, quot; Now I know without a doubt that
the Lord sent his angel and rescued me
from Herod's clutches and from everything
the Jewish people were anticipating.quot;
