3. Who Am I?
I am a Black-Tailed
Jackrabbit. I am
usually 18-24
inches long. I
usually weigh 4-8
pounds. I have
really long ears and
long front and back
legs.
4. The Early Years
I give birth to 1-6
young at a time. I’m
covered with fur and
my eyes are open when
I’m born. When my
mother goes out to find
food she hides her
young. When she is
upon returning they
use there call to locate
each other. I stay with
my mother a few weeks
after I’m born.
5. Habitat Sweet Habitat
I live in meadows,
prairies, farmlands,
sand dunes. I sleep
in prairies in the
day.
